I'll re-hash this topic. I use a '59 Gibson GA-16t a 2-6V6 tweed thing into a old Vox silver 12" with a Gibson. I play in a Top40 rock
cover band 3 nights a week and use the gibson cranked for my main OD sound and use the volume knob to clean it up. I use all my
pedals into a distorted amp. I have a LGW, DRD, FF3.5%, DBD. The DRD sounds great as it adds saturation for solos and just melts with the amp but stays very touch sensitive. the FolkFuzz sounds great in the bedroom, I haven't giged with it yet, (we took a month off) so not sure how it will work with my rig. I had a FRF, but it was a little too mid cut/muffish for me. The FF3.5% is more organic sounding so I'm hopefull! The LGW I usually use for either boosting for a bluesy sound or as a overdrive for when the volume on the guitar is turned down. Lots of great utility OD sound there. The DBD sounds great into a distorted amp too. I like this subject because alot of pedals are designed for clean fender BF type amps and very few are specialized for overdriven amps, I've been through alot of stuff and the BJFE stuff seems to work the best. I do need a great EQ, graphic prefered, to put first in the chain and use to EQ and cut the volume for my clean sound. I could control it beter with a EQ rather than just the volume control and make a really nice clean sound. Any sugesstions? Thanks- John
