Which type of BJF do you love the most? (POLL INCLUDED)

They are all so good...do you love one type more than the others?

I think my favorite is distortion!

It's hard to beat the collective group of the DRD, EGDM, the Model R, the Mighty Red, and now the Model H and the Cliffhanger. Resistance is futile. You can't stop them, you can only hope to contain them.

I selected distortion, but only *very narrowly* over fuzz ... and this is only because distortion is so utilitarian, covering such a range of useable textures for a variety of musical/playing situations. Realistically, you could have 1 guitar, 2 cables, one amp, and a BJF distortion and play virtually any gig in most any style of music ... all by riding your volume knob on your guitar as well as controlling sounds with your hands. This is why his pedals are the best in the world.

(For pure "fun factor" though ... I think I'd have to pick fuzz over distortion. More interesting to listen to, more fun to play and feel. Just not as utilitarian as a distortion.)

I flip flopped a few times.... but went with FUZZ

Its very difficult to come up with anything new these days , but BJ keeps finding the niches

and everytime I have a fuzz shootout or get a new one that think is the new 'best' I can usually still find a setting on the CAF that will best it.....

thats a good example - the peppermint fuzz is excellent, lots of wavy hairs sustaining fuzz.. that was one I had to actually hook up next to the CAF to be sure but yes it also fell, great fuzz but simply redundant ....

Hey Donner, which non-BJF fuzzes have you held onto? (i.e. which ones have passed the test?)

I dont think I love one type more than others,,but voted for modulation etc to round it out , seriously I do love the vibe vcf and phase,,,they are all pretty good.

I have to fully afree with Donner...the CAF is my favorite pedal ever...it is my desert island pedal and so much more...also the Folk Fuzz has crept its way into my tone...
