Thanks for the tip! When you settled on the Model H with your Carmen Ghia (great amp btw) which other drives did you audition with it? I still haven't really checked out the Model H that much, so i don't have much of a frame of reference when people mention it.
I auditioned all the BJFEs listed below except for the MHT which I only got a week ago. I think I got a lemon Carmen Ghia and what got me POed was it was the first amp I bought brand new in 25 years, so I lost a load of cash on it! But, because I was short an amp my friend loaned me a Bludotone 4x10 Bassman and I took the cash from the Z and put a deposit on the Bludotone for myself. There is only 1 and my friend isnt selling. I hope to have it sometime this year!
One thing I did notice was the first preamp tube has a lot to do with whether the amp likes pedals or not. You might investigate what is in there now and try a different brand or two.
