Well I thought I would post this as a follow up to the last board pic I posted.
After months of a/b'ing. This is the setup I most happy to use. Very functional(at least for my musical needs), no guessing , and only 3 dirts.
First in line, tuner, then wah(which I a/b ed five of those), which I cant seem to get off my board.
Then Octron,,which I really only use the octave Down effect, but use it quite often. Very tight and warm sounding. I was hoping BJ could come up with a small box octave down someday
The VCF is gets tweaked to a less funky setting since wah is on board, but more shall I say horn like. Sits pretty nice in the effects loop of the Octron.
Next is LRT, then PGC but I feel like this might be the only switch left to make.Maybe PGC>LRT. PGC most always on as is the BPB.
The Folk Phaser is a treat to play, very vocal. Looking forward to the MP version as well. I have it set before the dirt, just my preference. I can juice it with the Octave UP for more intense phasing if needed, but usually dont.
After many a od/dist trial, I am left with SYOD>DRD>Model R.
The two drives are set to stand alone, and be stacked.
The Model R is just right for my current rig. I could go on about these 3 but most already know they are amazing.
The MGMV has been irreplaceable. I swaped out the Blue(keys), went with the Green for guitar. Much a part of my sound
Next would be the PHumper. Great for use with all the modulation effects on board. It really pushes the effect out even more. I also use it with the SYOD at times.
Unfortunately the SYT got outed by the Powerglide. Both very musical, I just really liked having a two speed setting, plus I had space for it. The SYT sits with the SBMV on the Rhodes now and is great. I would love to see a BJF 2 stomp Trem too.
Another effect I cant bump is the TZF. Only draw back is size.
The DBD I really like. If I had another one and say a BJF analog delay, the TES would likely be gone. I actually realize I could fits about 4 DBD's in place of the TES, more options,,and it would be cheaper.
The SBEQ and BPB really help end the chain nicely. SBEQ set for bass boost and slight treble boost.
Really this rig would do great with just LRT>PGC>PH>SBEQ>BPB. This alone is a very versitile combo. By themselves they really help fine tune all the other effects. I cant really express how important these 5 pedals have become. I stare at the board alot less simply because I know what I want and how to get it quick.
Maybe Im just more picky now, but I do know Ive never been more content with my rig than I am now. I can really get my "own" sound out of it, which for me is very important.
Cabo
PS: BJ, sorry for all the hints towards non exsisting pedals,,,you know Im just dying to have an all BJFE board. cheers
