It is so easy for me to get sucked into a really good long reverb and end up just listening to the tails and interplay of harmonics ...... and there also people who cant turn their wahs off or have to have fuzz ....
Im also a sucker for ping pong delays and or e ven worse the panning delay in a good stereo rig !!!!!

Hmmmm...where to start

I never use reverb live, and sold my last amp with reverb(mint Tweed GA79RVT) a while ago, but I do still have the rackmount Realtube Reverb that sounds awesome. Natural sounding with excellent decay characteristics. That's easy to pass the time with--made my vintage tube Fender reverb sound...boingy.

DELAY..DElay..delay...Roland SRE 501 for sure... multi-tapping with second long delay, and built-in CE-1 Boss Chorus with adjustable bass and treble. Sweet liquid vibe. I attach a tether cord before plugging in.

Ibanez Flying pan in stereo with a wide speaker spread. The panner alone sounds awesome, but then add very light intensity phasing in varying LFO cycling ratios to the panner, and that still is a sonic ass kicker.

Lots of wahs, filter pedals, etc, but I'll go straight to the top and say whenever I plug into the Synthi Hi Fli, I'll always encounter several unexplainable mental anomalies in the space-time continuum.

Love wah, like a little delay and compression most all the time, relish the grit of overdrive and how the amp holds on forever, and I must confess that flange adds a very nice "spice" when not overdone.

How on earth did you get your hands on a functioning Synthi Hi Fli? That's kind of like, "Yeah, and in the meadow out back we keep a pony, a couple sheep... and a unicorn".

I got mine a while ago. I was pursuant and I lucked out a bit. It sounds ridiculous, and if you hear anyone slagging it as over-rated, either it's not working right or they don't know how to use it. It sounds awesome in many different ways. VERY ahead of it's time, and it still surprises me the Gilmour, Hackett, and even Richie Blackmore didn't use it more dramatically. I would like to to do a video demo sometime this summer. The EH Microsynth(along with a ton of other EH stuff) was designed by David Cockerell(creator of the Hi Fli), and is really a mini compact version, though nowhere near the level of sonic assault the Hi Fli can dish out.

most addictive thing I own is a keyboard synth when it comes to effects. for guitar delays/loopers are easy to get lost in, add in infintiphase,prometheus,and goatkeeper type effects and its a long night.

I've never been able to bond with any compressor - use 'em on occasion but not happily. Can you offer any comparison to other popular "boutique" comps, like the Keeley or Analogman? What specifically is different and special about the Pine Green (I know, there's some BJ magic in there)?

the best thing for me is the natural-ness of the pine green. it doesn't go SQUASH like many compressors do, unless you set it with compression up HIGH.

it adds a slight "sweetening" to the sound, ala the SBEQ.

the magic body knob allows you to get a variety of different sounding compressor types, much like the CAF nature knob gives you different fuzzes.

the PGC is a compressor for people who don't like standard compressors. i highly encourage you to PLAY one, it's simply too subtle of an effect to be properly revealed by video and audio clips.

for me, it makes my gigs EASIER when i play clean guitar parts, it makes the rhythm guitar JUMP OUT of the amp, instead of me PUSHING the notes out. hard to explain.

and yes......it has a heaping helping of BJF fairy dust in it
