Whats makes a good movie ?

So I used t o love going to the movies.....

Ive had small kids for a long time and really never make time to go see big people movies AT the Theater....

What do you look for in a movie that you would see at the theatre or just wait for DVD/cable.........or just not...


Usually for me it has to be something that takes advantage of the big screen to be worth going... like big special effects or music etc.....

If I am going to pay, a film would need to have high production value THX awesome cinematography.... exceptions would be of those arthouse indy or foreign films.

Some films like the Man with no name trilogy... fist full of dollars... for a few dollars more and the Good, the Bad, & the Ugly.... are best on the big screen with the proper aspect ratio. The cinematography alone tells a story the script can't. the latter is pssibly my favorite film of all time.

As for kids, i took my nephews to see Tenacious D... haha .. they loved it but they memorized the script..
they especially loved the mushroom trip scene.. so i'm the bad person to comment on kids flicks. ;P

Yeah a good SLOW film.
Everything is so hyped and pumped anymore that it blows you away...

You dont see many things anymore that really give you a chance to get inside them and them in you .......

There wee these movies I think it was a dubbed western but I think it a guy named Trinity or something , I watched those a number of times as a Kid...

ad t hen Jason and the Argonauts !!!! I just turned my kids onto that this christmas break - classic.

The new 3D technology is amazing and the new 4000p projectors are stunning. If they combined the two and made some epic films I would never leave the theater, if they made the projectors more affordable the 150k, then I would never leave my home and I would invest in a serious song collection

That sounds very cool! Im still waiting for the ones that you can walkaround in --- I guess Holographic movies is what I talking about !!
