Sea Blue EQ Pedal of the Year!

You know, I only have one problem with the SBEQ- it sounds so good I never want to turn it off!

ever since I got my new amp I'm playing with a lot less compression, so I've been using my PGC as a booster for leads and such and the SBEQ stays on all the time. Still though, I'd like to be keeping the PGC at unity too... but no room on the board for a BPB or RRB! Ahh, what to do

I just got my Sea Blue EQ today along with a MP LGW and holy sh*t these pedals smoke!!!The biggest surprize was the Sea Blue EQ,this made everything sound bigger,better,bad ass and tighter.Its gonna take awhile to get this smile off my face.The Timmy immediatly came off the board.The head room on this thing is incredible.Bobby you were so right about this one.It had my Nau 1x12 combo hopping across the floor!!! The lead tone and boost with the Dyna Red or the LGW was awesome.So I'm gigging tonight with both new pedals.

I guess I'm wondering has the Sea Blue got enough break up to be a slighty overdriven always on sound

as well as a tone shaper i.e. eq....That's incredible if it's doing your timmy's work.....

can you tell me a little more about that please?

I used the Timmy as a lead boost after the Dyna Red or LGW.Depending on the room we were playing it worked great or it didn't work at all.It seems that the head room on the Timmy wasn't enough and the tone range was lacking for some situations for my guitar to cut thru.The SBEQ was like lifting a blanket off my amp and after A/Bing the Timmy and SBEQ I found that even with the Timmy set clean it added compression and the tone was darker giving me less singing lead tone.Before the Timmy I used a Barber DD with the drive set to min. and the tone full up but even running it at 18volts it still didn't have the head room and the compression was more than the Timmy.
I play mainly a '91 PRS CE (maple/rosewood neck,alder w/mapletop body) thru a NAU 50 watt 1x12 Eminence Patriot((2)6L6) openback combo.Its a 2channel handmade Boogie based Amp.I set the amp clean with no breakup and use the padals as my OD,Distortion sounds.Because I use the clean sound the OD pedals are set to the same volume as the clean sound and the SBEQ is set higher.The master volume on the amp is set around 10 oclock.The LGW is set at V 12 oclock,Drive at 1 oclock,Body at 2oclock.SBEQ volume at 12 (see what I mean by headroom,plenty of boost at this setting),Bass 10 oclock and Treble at2 o clock and I change the bass and treble to the room if needed.
The other guitar player has a Fender Strat(1969) stock pu.playing thru a NAU 50 watt 1x12 openback(2 6L6).Fender based Amp.He uses a fuzz pedal,Rat,and BB preamp+ combination.Set clean also using pedals for dirt.
As for the moment I am running the SBEQ at 9volts and I have more than enough headroom and I can dial in the right tone to cut thru the mix in so far every room I have played so far.Great job Bjorn!!!!!
It works well with my Marshall JVM and THD Flexi also.Its a great pedal and I'm blown away by the LGW also (that one kicked the BB preamp off the board).

That MORE than answers my question. It was this thread and some feedback from Slim, NewarkWilder and DonneR that convinced me to get a SBEQ.
It's due any day after clearing customs!!!!!!!

I hope to use it as an always on pedal as my boost for solos is the Lizard Legs Flying Dragon. I was VERY pleased I purchased the Flying Dragon and was equally impressed with the customer service and follow up by Steve and his wife Brandi. They indeed are a class act!

My aim with the SBEQ was to make the best out of what I already have and then some!!!!!!

I guess you'd call it the icing on the tonal cake. Many SBEQ owners say it's a foundation on their board and the difference is truly apparent when they turn it off (which as this thread already indicates for some never happens!!!!!)

So my expectation as a verbal portrait would be:

"Subtle Necessity!"

I'm wondering if Shakespeare ever used a Sea Blue eq?????????

New pedal name: Shakespeare's Brilliant Eloquence Quest........

I know, it's only Rock and Roll......but I'm guessing that I'll like it!!!!!!!!!!!

I reckon Shakepeare would dig the SBEQ too!!!!!!

Can't believe one sold on ebay recently for 285 after a BIN price went from 325 down to 305 U.S.

That's just nuts. Some people are really marking up 2nd hand PGC's and HB's,

and I've seen 2 or 3 SBEQ's on on TGP and ebay recently that to my surprise were there

a while with trade offers/ price drops etc.

Is it indicative of the econmies all over,

or is the SBEQ a more specific/ taste/ application of the BJFE line?

Any thoughts on why many good things are moving slowly @ the moment
