Ideas for a BJF Fest

Postby Eskimo_Joe » Mon Dec 01, 2008 8:39 pm

Hi everybody,

It seems like there's at least 6-8 of us that are interested in doing a BJF Fest next spring. Aside from just getting together and jamming, do you guys have any ideas of what you might like to do, BJF-related or otherwise?

If the timing is right, it would be great to catch a concert/performance at the same time. Get starved on that here in Northeastern "Alaska" Missouri.

Hi everybody, I've been doing some random Brainstorming:

-- who ever is able to attend and is able to bring gear, brings gear and we can set it up either in one room of several to allow multiple people to be checking stuff out at the same time

-- what if we had a blind taste test? :) Maybe it would be like a "name that tone" contest with a fun prize for the winner? :)

-- What about a favorite stack exhibition? :)

-- We could make some demos of pedals / amps / guitars, etc.

-- It might be cool to do a t-shirt for the event.

What do you think? Any other ideas?

That all sounds like fun!

Do you have a specific place where you'd like to have it?
Get in where you fit in.

There's a practice space called Utopia here in town. I haven't been over there yet, but the website looks cool.

NewarkWilder and I are gonna organize a small BJF Mad Professor pedal party in south Florida in the future, maybe whenever BJ comes to Florida again to visit.

If any of the "faithful" want to come visit, you will be invited.

We will probably do it at George's shop, since he has enough room in there, plenty of amps and gear, and plenty of guitars to go around.

ANYONE who comes will be sworn to secrecy regarding the location and details, but I will attempt to talk George into letting me do some video and photos on the event.

So.....for those of you in the south who are willing to come to a location in Ft Lauderdale, let me know who you are, via PM.....and we will set this up.

The BJF fest in STL sounds like a great idea. If I'm not traveling through work, I'm definitely in. Since I will be driving down, I'll bring some gear. If a lot of people (in this case "a lot" is certainly relative) is doing the same, maybe we should coordinate so that we make sure we have a variety of stuff to test???

Maybe we could have a traveling tourbox or something that would stop at a few diffferrent gatherings St. Louis, one week then on to FtLauderdale then onto another maybe northeast or something.....

we could all play the same pedals and arrange for a few rarities to appear....
