I remember being 13. My family would rent a beach house every year on Myrtle Beach SC for one week during summer.

I was the kid that stayed home with his guitar and played 5 hours a day instead of going to the amusement parks


so, the people who "own" the house are sorta hippies. the year is 77 i think. i go looking into their record collection, and see "bridge of sighs".

it looked "interesting"

i put the needle on the record, and then was blasted to the FLOOR, and stayed on the floor with the first side on repeat for what seemed like hours.

just got his "greatest hits album", the new one, and it reminded me how good he, and especially how good James Dewar was as a bassist and lead vocalist.

and thankfully Robin is still with us, out there doing gigs, I love him!

Yup, Bridge of Sighs... Killer head music... Listen to it weekly!
It took forever for me to get the CD, for some reason they didn't release it in CD form for a really long time.
It doesent sound the same as vinyl, pretty sure they remixed it for CD release...
I wore the grooves out on 2 vinyl copies back in the day...

i thought i saw GOD.

i honestly thought he was light years BETTER than hendrix for a couple of years there, until i matured a bit. i think he played technically BETTER than jimi, and was in tune most of the time, so that's what i guess made me think that.

Mahogany Rush 4 did wonders on an 8-track player in a classic 68 dodge charger, while riding down the road burning one and feeling free....ah, the 70s. i miss you.

I once saw Mahagony Rush at a drive-in movie theater in Florida in the mid-70's, somwhere in the Tampa/Clearwater/St. Pete Metro area...
A local southern rock band called Hydra opened for them... Remember them?
What a cool show! Then funky late night movies like: Zachariah, the first electric western featuring Joe Walsh!!! LOL!!! Very strange movie...

were you there when led zep played tampa stadium and caused a riot, and there were never any more concerts there?

I didn't make it to that Zep show, or any Zep show, sad to say...
I bought tix for for what was to be their last tour, which was cancelled cuz Bonnie died...
Never did get to see Zep, what a bummer...
