'Keeping it in the family'

~ great when it happens- highly encouraged - but not necessary and no brownie points lost for not playing.....

As I guess I started this a long time ago by complaining that some people were flipping thier research pedals without even doing any research .....

BJ has stated his official position that its not necessary...

and after people give a full report on new/ rare/ research pedals ~~~ I officially do not care !!!!!!

I know things on the net die hard.

I havent said that in a long time but I still see it qouted , just like on the DAM explosion ......

so one last time :

GET WHAT YOU WANT FOR YOUR POSSESIONS ~~~_ I REALLY DONT GIVE A FLYING smile[/size] ok ? 8)

I wish I had seen this thread earlier. I feel compelled to point out a few things.

1. Analoghog has provided insightful reviews throughout his tenure around here. I understand the "unwritten rule" and I can understand (I'm sure AnalogHog does as well) the annoyance that Cobra and others felt upon first reading this thread. Lets remember that as a family, we need to value and respect each other as well. Lest end up like Harmony-Central-Bash-Fest.com

2. I bought the SYOD. With much joy. And Analoghog worked with me on the price to give me a deal I could afford. He deserves credit for that. I want to publicly thank him for that. You all can expect a review out of it in all the various circumstances I find myself playing it in.

3. Is the AWF back on the market (deal fall through?)? Here's the link. $600 is reasonable for custom shop.

I'm surprised to see an AWF out there. Are these generally available?

Could be wrong, but I think there's only been about 3 AWF (updated SWF's) purchased through contests, so definitely a rare bird!

As for my 2 cents on this string of posts........ when I go onto other guitar and effects forums and I read the posts, it's crazy ridiculous how many of them turn into bashing things. I love that this forum is not like that. I understand that these things will always happen from time to time, but here it is so few and far between and I love that. I really dig BJF's creations and I'm happy to be a part of a forum of people who are equally passionate about his work. I don't know Cobra or Analoghog personally, but if I had to guess, I'd bet that both of them are really stand-up guys. I have had great pedal transactions with Analoghog, so I have to say, he's a quality guy in my book and I'd buy a pedal from him again in a heartbeat, thanks Analoghog!!!!!!!

Here's a little guess that I have conjured up from my own experiences as to why this all happened......... you come home from work only to find out that a BJF pedal is for sale that is over a personal price range you told yourself you'd be willing to pay for it or it was in your range and it just got sold and for either of those reasons you missed it. It's a really hard pedal to find and it upsets you because it's like a goal that was set that didn't get reached, you dwell on it for a day and it makes your more upset, another day passes and you're still upset because that's the tone you've been looking for and it's soooooo hard to purchase it!!!! Probably I'm not the only one who has felt this way about just missing a BJF pedal. I can see how in that state of mind, someone would voice a misdirected opinion that was probably coming more from a place of being upset about not having that tone......... sort of like getting mad at your wife or your girlfriend about something that's not her fault, in the heat of the moment you yell and say stuff you don't mean and then after a few days of her constantly reminding you about the things that you said to her, you realize, wooooops, probably shouldn't have taken that out on her cuz it wasn't her fault! Hopefully that's sort of what this situation was, but instead of female loving, it was pedal loving at fault. :)
