minimalism tonight........i removed all but two pedals.....

Postby Bobby D » Sun Oct 26, 2008 5:55 pm

sort of a tough day -- talk of ill parents, funeral arrangements, estate planning, ecomnomic downturn issues, life on life's terms sort of thing. it happpens.

so i decided to spend a couple of hours with two things that make me smile, to knwo them a bit more intimately.

learning a great deal more about how the Nature knob on the CAF allows one to have a variety of fuzzes -- I tend to like my pseudo-octavia setting, but there are 3-4 other areas of fertile sonic exploration lurking in there.

the DRD continues to make me smile at low gain, medium gain, high gain, etc.

did some stacking between the two, as suggested by Donner.

still playing with them now.....and then bed. Tomorrow shall be a brighter day!

But don't worry -- there will be more pedals replaced on the board in the coming days --- I have a week off between gigs, so I am taking things down to bare essentials, then rebuilding it closer to my heart's desire.....

I have tried to talk Newarkwilder out of his, but he said he was not letting go of it :-)

HOWEVER -- when the tourbox arrives, he is only 3.5 hours from me.

I have a very fast car 8)

My brother owns a house close to where he lives. So we are going to meet there, I am bringing all my BJF pedals, my Soldano combo, my 69 strat, and my video camera.

I hope you don't mind, but I am gonna have my way with the tourbox, and Newark and I are gonna shoot some vidclips.

It's gonna be FUN :-)

and i do a LOT more than Hendrix stuff....but those are the two clips I have posted so far. Got to post sme of my other stuff, and originals.....

I am enjoying some minimalism myself! I disassembled my pedal board a couple months ago and it has been great. (oddly enough). :) It's like a buffet. Sometimes there's so many options that you fail to fully appreciate what you're scarfing down. If you just go for the plate of prime rib and mashed potatoes, you still reach a very happy place. :)
