have you tried rolling t he fuzz back and stacking just t he octave into the DRD ??
What speakers are in the Soldano??
What I did was run the "crunch" channel of the soldano on a very light overdrive -- a nice big glassy yet dark tone with a nice hint of warm overdrive.
CAF was noon on volume, nature at 11:58-58 or so, and gain set at about 2 o'clock. I wanted to bond with the CAF as a stand alone pedal first.
I don't like stacking it into the DRD so much, because my normal tonal habit is to stack an octave fuzz into a nice overdrive. And I believe that although I think I got ripped off trying to buy my EGDM, there is a beautiful LGW that will be on the way to me soon, which I think I will like better than the EGDM for my own use.
The DRD became a PART of my SYSTEM last night. My wife said she could see a different look on my face, and she KNEW when I was playing the DRD. It must have been a smile
The Soldano is loaded with the speaker Mike put in there in 1994 -- Soldano branded Eminence speakers, they sound good with that amp. My tech is George Scholtz, the guy who was Harry Joyce's apprentice, and lives here pretty quietly about 20 minutes from my apartment, so we play with amps a lot. I may have him install some vintage NOS KT66 tubes that I have stashed away -- allegedly from what Mike Soldano told me, the reverb-o-sonic sounds even bigger with the KT 66 tubes...hmmmm.......
i need to get a decent video editing program, so I could have lightened up the video -- we had almost NO lighting last night...my fault.....
