Paint issues

I just have to chime in and say that the hand painted nature of the pedals is absolutely part of their charm.

Just to know that it was thought up, soldered, and painted meticulously by hand to me means a lot more than a smooth silk-screened machined box that comes out of a factory.

And they look awesome!

I have a couple extra bottoms that work great if you are concerned about the velcro thing. I myself think that the pedals, while very charming to look at, are much more charming when being heard and gigged.

I use velcro. Oh well.

i have never bought pedals as an "investment", only for the sound.

i use velcro too and i couldnt care less about cosmetics....

I am also guilty of slapping on the velcro and not caring about much besides the sound. I have been gigging with BJF for a couple years now, I do like that I can tell at a quick glance by the different colors to step on what I need.

However II do know the paint is very important to some and it definitely does not hurt anything. And I do admit I dig the cartoons inside the box.

Velcro here, too. I take pretty good care of my stuff, and am successful at avoiding paint chippage because I keep them safe on a board and not sliding all over the floor.

But yeah, velcro on the bottom plate ... oh well.

I don't mind the paint chips at all......but I did have an analogman minchorus that was painted by Donner, and it was such a work of art I was sort of worried about stepping on it all the time!

But the paint on the donnerbox chorus was SO THICK it was amazing. I think out of ALL the custom pedals I have owned, my donnerbox finished pedal was the BEST of them all.

The BjFe pedals I currently have are beautiful. The CAF has the newer finish, and is pretty new, so it is near mint.

My DRD is a bit older, and has the flat red finish with quite a few chips and scratches. But I don't mind it a bit -- every time I have stepped on it, it makes me smile
