Honey Bee Tone Question - for those who own it

I read a review saying that with an Octavia, the reviewer could get a Band of Gypsies tone with an HB. I'm also looking for a Heartbreaker (from Led Zeppelin II) tone.

Would these tones be plausible (assuming my amp and guitars are not in question)? What if I stack the pedal?

well if memory serves alot of the early LZ stuff was a mic'd Supro ...... and the HB is in that vein as well so Id say youd certainly be on the right track

the HB is funny in that it sort of opens up when pushed so hitting it with an Octavia would be an excellent stack..... one of my favorites is CAFuzz into HB .... kind of like a Jalapena popper - most people cant take a straight Jalapena but after you fill it and batter it and cook it its reallllly tasty ....

Just wanted add my thumbs up on the CAF- HB combo. Those are two pedals that remain on my board all the time. The HB is in fact the best pedal I've ever come accross as far as stacking goes. I have a V4 King of Tone pedal that I run into the HB with fantastic results too. What is really impressive is that you can get a really fat overdrive sound out of it by just increasing the volume on the pedal that comes in front of it so even a clean boost pedal will drive the HB into thick overdrive/distortion territory.

I got my Honey Bee today and... it's absolutely unbelievable.

At first I put it in front of my amp and I thought "its good... but maybe not $415 + fees good... (keeping in mind that I'm a student without much cash)" Then I figured that since it's made to be stacked, I'll try that... I got the most amazing results by running a modded Epi Valve Jr head (Bitmo Trio mods) into a 23 watt attenuator into the HBOD and then on to my amp.
With my Les Paul I was going for a Led Zeppelin II sound and I can honestly say... I think it sounds considerably better... Of course, this is contingent on the pedal being boosted with the right pedal/preamp.

It also definitely can do Band of Gypsies with a Strat; the overdrive is extremely smooth. It can do that low John Mayer gain like in the Slow Dancing solo or Dreaming With a Broken Heart etc...

All in all, I am 110% incredibly happy with my new Honey Bee and I am now see that I will soon be hooked on BJFE pedals. I believe the hype and I've seen the awesomeness first hand. Thank you!!!

Yeah you can hear the dynamic distortion thats feeding off what its fed, and thats why its so useful with so many things , it makes itself part of what ever sound its injected into........

Well thanks I debated doing them as Im just your basic hack guitarist, but I think thats what people want for tone comparisons anyway ,,, if the playing is too good or too produced you dont get any real feel for the pedal used , you just want to cut the strings off your guitar , and I dont usually have THAT effect on people

Yeah its kind of odd more people dont do demos of the BJFE stuff, Id think there would be alot of BJF owners with recording equipment and ability...

this is actually one of the best uses for t he HB as the HB simulates the feel of powertube distortion - so getting the amp sound in front of the HB gives it plenty to play with..

Im suprised more people dont put the HB in the loop of thier amp so they get the preamp feeding into the HB
