This is a tough question, but for me I would say it would be:

Supa Quack LE wah

Honorable mentions

D*A*M MKII
Fetto Deluxe (Thanks to Donner for turning me onto this one)

My Menatone KOTB pedal is pretty much indispensable. If I ever get frustrated with other ODs, I know right where to set the KOTB to get perfect crunch, overdrive, or all out distortion. And it always treats me right.

My Memory Lane is a close runner up.
Much smaller collection than the days of yore . . .

I know this isn't "one" pedal, but these are my favorite non-BJF pedals. Lotsa cool stuff out there, kids ... BJ would tell you that himself.

My personal non-BJF faves, broken down by category:

OD's: ProAnalog Dual Drive v.2 & Menatone Blue Collar
Fuzzes: D*A*M MkII Pro & ProAnalog MkII
Wah: Area 51 all the way, forever & ever, amen.
Modulation: Moog Moogerfooger MF-103 12-stage Phaser
Heavy Distortion: G2D Morpheus
Delay: Diamond Memory Lane
Harmonizing: FoxRox Octron
Boost: ProAnalog Boost Royale

Oh well, I guess if I had to pick just one, it would likely be the Area 51 wah ... as there is no readily-available BJF counterpart. I gotta have a wah, and the Area 51 literally slays everything else I've ever tried ... and I've tried most of 'em.

Hi Matt,

Sure thing,,its one pedal that seems night and day with a Fuzz or OD in front of it.
I like to run a vintage fuzz type into it such as a fuzz face or tonebender type. It is a subtle effect without something pushing it upfront.

for out A/green,,canceled out, jet, hendrix sounds(oclock settings)
Fuzz>TZF

TZF-max
Mix-11
Regen-10
Env-1
Depth- 3 to max
Manual- 2
Speed-3 w/foot controller as slow as it can go.

for a chewier, not as crazy or wierd erratic flange I use it set for out B/red ,,,reminds me of a older Zappa type phase/flange tone.
TZF>OD/Dist. for this one.

TZF-max
Mix-7
Regen-5
Env-4
Depth-3
Manual-1
Speed-3 w/foot control set to lowest speed

lots of settings available as the modulation controls change/interact with each other,,,, really amazing to use in stereo although I dont use that setup often.
Another fine Foxrox pedal worth a mention is the Octron 2, which can also scream into the TZF if desired. :)

hope that maybe helps with some starting points,,,the TZF does take some time to set up, but does what its intended to do extremely well.
My complaints would be size, and the fact you really need dirt up front to make it really stand out.

cheers,
Lann
