It's snowing in Zion...
It showed up today and I plopped it on the board.
Strat w/vintage (low output) pickups
Supa Quack>Snow White>EchoPlex>Swart AST>Attenuator>Swart 2x12 with a Blue & Silver and also off of the Attenuator>D Memory Man>Genz Benz 2x12 Amp.

Snow White's knobs all at noon: YES! Beautiful break-up. Chimey even! Hints of EGDM but sits much nicer in my ears. Tone control from one extreme to the other? All usable. This is the best tone control I've ever used in a BJFE pedal. Its sits perfect in the freq range.
Stomp the wah and the Snow White acts like its known the Supa Q for years.
All pickup positions sound great! Volume roll-on and off are so smooth. Well Done Indeed! More to come...

Threw the Paul at it...yep, this pedal is good. Anyone familiar with the Lovepedal 200lbs? Imagine that pedal with dynamics. Imagine that pedal with more grind on the upper end. Everything good about the 200lbs magnified. Many BJFE's to me have a common taste to them. I can close my eyes and pick out a BJFE. They have a common "smell" to them. Not so with Snow White. Sings and blooms and I'm just running at 9volts.

Volume and Tone at noon. Fuzz at 10:00. Middle position on the Paul. So smooth! I want to say it blurs the lines between fuzzy fuzz and distortion. More so than the PPF. This thing has got more of a straight up rock voicing as opposed to the PPF which has a unique tone to it.

I'm still waiting for it's shortcomings to come out. I am trying to be constructive, but nothing is pulling my "if it only had more or less of this" strings.

Did a little stacking today...playing the Tele through a new fuzz pedal I just built stacked into the Snow White. Ooohlala. The homebuilt is in the Tone Bender realm (3 vintage trans). I'm still tweakin on it but it's 60's style, fairly thin, fairly buzzy. Stacking with the Snow White which is much more fuller really enhances each pedal's strengths. The resulting sound is full and rich from the Snow with some stinging high end from the homebuild. The homebuild elicts feedback on a dime so its fun to roll back the guitar volume a hair playing some nice rhythm and then just bring back some tasty feedback out of no-where at bedroom volume.

interesting. can you further compare the 200lbs and SWF.

I was wondering if these too were as similar as donners clip sounded to some of the 200lbs demos. is the 200lbs weak dynamically, or is it the BJF-ness of the dynamics of SWF that trivializes lovepedal...

My comparison of the 200lbs and the SWF...

In terms of family treedom, I think they are close at their core's. Play them side-by-side and the 200lbs will seem lifeless next to the very alive SWF. But, I like the 200lbs, not enough to keep it, but I think for $150 bones its a great pedal. The SWF will envelope you with its warmth and it clearly is the more dynamic pedal. But as far as amounts of drive and tonal attributes, they are probably as close as Lovepedal and BJFE have ever been.

I have a Snow White myself and love it as on overdrivey fuzz but I'm still curious about how a Folk would compare.

A Folk and a SWF are the most similar of any two BJF fuzzes in my opinion. That said, they are distinct from each other. Both are organic sounding, but the SWF has a broading range of fuzz and at it fuzziest, it much heavier than the Folk in my opinion. Both are great. The Folk is a bit friendlier. The SWF is capable of being a bit meaner. Hope that helps!

FolkNSnow - Say it really fast 3x with your best imported accent...

My board is stripped down (for the past couple of weeks) to 2 dirt pedals. The Snow White and a Folk Fuzz. I've learned that to really tap into a pedal, I can't be distracted by others. Too many choices has me dancing on the switches and twisting knobs more than playing. So with that, I feel like I've come to know these two pretty well - Well enough to post this here stack.
Of course a good stack is only as good as where it lies. Tele>SupaQ>Discombobulator>SWF>FF>Echoplex>Swart>DMM>Motion Sound Sidewinder
The beauty of these two together is their similarities. Both are fairly tame fuzzes, very playable throughout their ranges, and sound great with bucks or singles.
Uniqueness for the Folk lies in its tone control. The Snow contributes more dirt... aka balls. Stacking them creates a ballsy sound with great tone control. I can go SWF and kick on mr. Folk for leads. I can go Folk for softer rhythm and kick on Snow and bring the rock. A great duo which shows how pedals from the same bloodline play well together.
