Anyone want to swap their Teese RMC3 for my Supa Quack? I'm looking for a wah where I can tweak the tone.

Curious as to what BJF dist/OD you use most with the Supa?
I have a LE as well, I find the more compressed the fuzz or distortion the less compatable it is.
It seems to react better when a heavy distortion pedal has a more open feel.
Like you say maybe all the LEs are slightly different.

Hey cabo!

Overall, I think my Supa Quack works best with medium over drives like the Baby Blue, the Sparkling Yellow, and my Landgraff DO. That said, it also works great with virtually all of my distortions. The only issue is with some really heavy fuzzes (mostly D*A*M pedals). Anyway, I think you're right when you say the more compressed it is, the less pleasing the tone. I'd love to drop a foxrox buffer into it, but I'm scared it would mess with the tone somehow. I've heard Analogman sells a foxrox buffer in a stand alone box. It'd be nice to try that. What about for you?

I guess alot can depend on how the drives and distortions are being used as well as many other factors,,
Good thought on the AM foxrox buffer, seems worth a try.

well for myself bjfs with my SupaQ running into them,,
Fuzzes-(set full fuzz)
PPF and FRF do extremely well,,I was surprised about the FRF?s capabilities w/wah. PPF does cover more useable ground with the SQ.
the FF and SWF by themselves not so good,,covers or masks the voicing of the SQ.
CAF can be good, can be bad depending on how its set. :wink:

OD(set w/ full gain)-
SBOD probably my go to for this category. A ton of versatility available to fine tune.
LGW worked well before the SB. I liked the slight mid and compression added.
HB(set low gain/cleaner) can somehow make the SQ even smoother and creamy,, really nice for blues type solos.

Distortions (set with a lot of gain)
DRD would be my pick here,,everything seems to stay intact.
EGDM doesn?t seem mate well,,neither does the R although at lower gain settings the R seems to work.
Come to think of it Ive never tried it with the MRD,, not sure how that one does.

anyway tried to cover the good and the bad,, also most observations come from playing mostly single coils into a CS-40.
the other drives,, H,SY,BB, Ive used with the SupaQ have been ok and possibly even killer ,but they are just not dialed in and set for the sounds Im looking for w/ wah.
and again ,,, Im using a LE, and there does seem to be some variation of those.

I've owned the Teese Pic wah and the Pro Analog Supa Quack. The Supa has stayed. I use it with all of my BJFs but the PPF and HB stick out for sure as great matches.

Okay,.... abovei mentioned in bringing out my crybay classic and pluggin it in the chain, well, I did just that today to see how the bjfe's react/ alter the badwidth of the crybaby. guitar> lgw>mdl R> EGDM> HB> crybaby> jcm 800> cab.
HB> crybaby,.... this was, is my favorite, :) v@12,d@dime'd,n@1:30pmish.
whats cool is you get a creeping ghost wha ing effect when you find the sweetspot on the wha, it comes in quiet, almost hollow till you up on the top of the wha. very scary good, great effect.
EGDM> Crybaby. being thick with top end, the egdm works extremely well with the low end of the wha, making true vocal tones. Cool.
Mdl R> Crybaby...... yeah baby. This is rock and roll :twisted: for pure in your face midrange howl from the depths of the black wolf during a full moon... this is the ticket.
LGW> Crybaby. Classic Crybaby drive with expanded range.

THe bottom line is the BJF's add each owns "charachter" to the wha (boosting it) and your rewarded with endless wha tone possibilities.
I like my Wha again. Thanks to the BJFE's. Now I need a bigger board :shock:

interesting murkat,,,I dont think Ive ever ran a wah that late in the chain! :shock:

,,,I was doing some testing with the SupaQ and Cliff Hanger,,the results were outstanding for high gain wah sound. seemed to work better than DRD for my taste in that particular application.
its making me think that when combined the type of distortion has more to do with the wah sounding good than the wah making the distortion sound good... :? :lol:
anyhow Im throwing a few different rmc3's at them today,,,we'll see how it goes. :)
