Pedal or stack suggestion/advice

Lately I've been pining to cop a reasonable decent 63 Blonde(6g6b) bassman tone (jangly punchy highs and a fat tight bass)

my current stable (RRB, EGDM, HBOD, SBEQ).

My amp and speaker set up (GZ34 tube rectified Tophat Club Royale 2x12 w/ a Fane V30 and a G12H30 75th anniversary...I also have another anniversary h30 I could put in)

I think my best chances at the moment involve the RRB and SBEQ...though it seems the LGW could almost nail the tone...I could be wrong though.

Until I can save the funds for a real 63 in good condition or a Gomez Amps El Sonido, I was just looking for a way to scratch the itch when my gretsch gets here

guitar>chord>rrb>hbod. set the HB to taste with a grind, then clean up with the guitar vol., goose the HB with the RRB with the guitar vol still down/ clean. as you turn it up, you should be in heaven

Thanks Murkat for the advice, I need to get down to it and play around with those suggestions.

on a second note, I have GAS *BAD* now for a 6g6-b bassman. I know that fender amps work a lot different witht the EGD than vox amps do (atleast Blackface fenders). Just wondering how the EGD would do with a 6g6-b, if anyone knows.

After reading descriptions(jangly punchy highs, and fat tight bass) about these from a fellow Tophat'r, hearing clips (Setzer... Jay Bennett on the Wilco DVD...amongst others), and reading that it's one of the great pedal taking amps out there...I'd be crazy to think that this wouldn't be an ultimate amp fo me.

I would like to keep my amp stock to one amp....it would be awesome to have one of these I think, it's just that I've been a vox guy( AC15 and TopHat CR 2x12) for nearly 6 years, but I feel the egd and RRB could keep me in a vox place. My only Fender experience was a Twin Reverb RI...I enjoyed it for what it was...but it seemed too stiff and clean...even when I cranked it....great for those moments of Dick Dale rampaging though.

the EGDM sounds great pumping my 67 pro reveb. retains tone character of the pro while adding the creamy top end gain for leads. You do have to tweak the treble trim per amp. I have it set about 9pm for the Fender, 11ish for a marshall, depends on my mod thou

Sounds good to me,

I just don't want to run into Ice pick in ear death, but a little zip and bite never hurt.

I also thought I wouldn't get the sag I'm used to with a 6g6-B, but I think the HB could put a little back in for my for the times where I need that feeling.

SBEQ is your friend ; ]
Yeah You want to just leave this on, it has a particular hih filter that works with that range to clear treble without icepick......
even bettern in the loop if you amp has one.........
