The first MP delay clip is just the Princeton on 4...with a Les Paul...
So it's on the verge...but no other pedals..just guitar,delay and amp...

WOW, The DRD is so amplike it's amazing. I would have thought it was an EL-34 amp cranked. I know you always hear that about many pedals, this and maybe only this really nails it. This is in a league of its own.

I really liked the tone of the OLA OD recorded - for some reason that one really appealed to me.

Given that the Analogman Delay and the MP Deep Blue Delay are both very new, this might be kindof an annoying question, but has anyone had the opportunity to try both and compare them?

I don't think that's an annoying question at all. It's a very valid one IMO. I have played the MP Delay (and was *blown away*), but I have not played the AM. I know Donner has both, so perhaps he can chime in here....

I received my Analogman Delay yesterday and so far am loving it. Naturally, after playing with it for a bit I immediately began wondering how the MP DBD will compare to it. Sigh. Anyway, IMO $150 is a steal for an analog delay that sounds as good as the one AM is making now. The DBD is digital, though, isn't it?

Yes, the DBD is digital in that the delay mechanism / repeat generator itself is digital. But the signal path is analog, and there is no conversion being done to the dry guitar signal (whereas other digital delays convert the whole thing).

So what you get is the performance and clarity of digital (the good stuff) without the sterility typically associated with digital delays (the bad stuff). The tone retains the warmth of analog (the good stuff) without the muddiness and murkiness typically associated with analog delays (the bad stuff). (This "good" and "bad" stuff, btw, is IMO only ... not meant to offend anybody who may like those sonic attributes.)

It really is the best of both worlds combined into one pedal. Best delay I've ever tried thus far, by a long shot. I have not tried the AnalogMan, which I'm sure is an excellent pedal, especially for the price.
