What does the 4th knob do to the sound of the Model R?

Please correct me if I am wrong but I seem to remember it being a presence control.. The R is a great dirt box  I'm suprised there isn't a BearFoot yet :music

Thanks! The knob was marked P so you are probably correct.

I thought there was only parts for 99 MRs? Bjorn made me a very nice one, with a little something special, and unless my kids are starving it will never be for sale :notworthy :bjorn

Something special? Do tell

I wonder if the 4k at tgt11 was bought by someone here? A review & demo would be nice

Yeah:) thesegoto11 -you r the best guys!!!! :) bow..
the resonance knob is affected if you have any pedal switched on or a buffer in front of model r ( dont get me wrong- the sound would still be amazing) but If you want to get the "proper" results out of the resonance knob- you should put the model r first in the chain. If you put it lets say 3rd or 4th in the chain keeping all the pedals before the model r switched off..that would cause a big load which would affect both the the overall sound and the function of the resonance knob in a bad way..Thats why i still can't say is it a good stacker or not.. I think the new presence knob is a perfect upgrade! Anyway..sounds very deep, open, good dynamics..singing mids at the same time..best of the best.. Unique.. That's all I can say so far - probably nothing new:)

How did I miss this! I guess this explains why my MR sounds so good with just a tuner in line and is not able to stay on my board. Thanks for stopping the cycle of frustration lol.

I felt the same way:) no worries.. I used to have an xotic rc booster first in the chain - always on. sold it:) now things are going like this: RMC4 wah>Model R> LGW>SBEQ> anadime chorus> DBD> BPB.
the xotic rc was a cool pedal, but I just don't need it and I sold it. the LGW is my booster now (sounds better and bigger to my ears than the xotic rc). or I can use the LGW as an overdrive and easily boost through the sea blue EQ which is a booster as well...choices...the model R RULES man!!! cheers:) haha
no worries..put the R first in the chain :pedallove[/quote]

the xotic rc was messing around with the R. I experimented putting dyna red instead of the R without any "problem" :) I was also wondering- why a resonance control (model r) instead of a regular tone pot (dyna red) which would cancel this king of issues:) the resonance knob adjusts the amount of pickup load and this is the better way to set the desired amount of highs..it just sounds more natural than cutting highs through a tone knob. by the way..I made an A/B with fetto nord (does not need an introduction) recently. the R was the winner. end of story.

Yeah this is one reason there isnt a BearFoot version.... it needs special placement and people rorget and if it was at dealers it would be a problem.... but it was the first customshop pedal and I still rock the proto....I love it into a Honey Bee or a SBEQ......maybe some day...
