Suggestions for someone newer to BJFE/Bearfoot.

Hi Guys,

New to the forum and was looking for thoughts and input on drive selection. I've been looking at juggling my pedal board as I'm not completely happy with several elements I'm running.
Currently, I'm running my drive section with a Visual Sound Route 66 (Ross Comp/TS Clone dual pedal) into a King of Tone with the high gain option on the red side. I'd been dissatisfied with this for a while but thought it might be my amps etc. Had my amps fully serviced and retubed etc. that flat feel was still there.
After cruising the web and chatting with some people I know who love the bearfoot pedals (and I must admit I'm really worried about becoming a BF junkie as well, every time I check the bearfoot site I get that feeling of wanting just one more :) I'm looking at one of the following configs:
1. PGP-> SYOD1 -> EGDM -> Honeybeest or:
2. PGP-> DRD4 -> EGDM -> Honeybeest

My primary amp is a modded 90's original Rivera Knucklehead K100 head, the clean channel is a beautiful 'clean Fender' sound and I run the dirty channel low gain and use pedals for drive.

Sorry for the wall of text but but given the investment I wanted to get feedback on these drive chains, mainly: Which do you think would make the better 'stack' of pedals or whether another combination might be worth considering.

I'd love to try these in advance but finding these locally in Australia where I'm based requires a drive of a couple of hours or more.

Thanks for reading my pedal version of War & Peace and appreciate any/all thoughts :)

I say make a day of it :music nothing really compares to trying them out, A/B-ing, stacking and comparing so as to find what is just right for you.. pack a picnic!

I find that the honey bee variantions and the MG have a nice response to picking dynamics and are a great entry point given the flat feel you describe.. great stackers too.. knowing what style of music you play the most may help get some more opinions for you. I am guessing you like a big bit of gain from time to time :mrgreen:
