I'm excited to hear more about this too! If it is still being developed... one thing I always thought would be cool is a delay with a really special pre-amp built in that would thicken things up... sort of like the ultimate EP booster built into the circuit. I obviously don't know enough about all of this to know if this would actually do what I hope it would, but thought I would mention it all the same.

Yep, pretty exciting stuff!

I read about it while lurking over here: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showth ... ?t=1365318

Love the modulation feature... totally!! Not sure how far things have progressed but I think a direct out and effect out for stereo operation would be a great addition in my little world (with nice summing for mono of course...).

Perhaps... and this is just me getting geeky... if it were stereo outs, how about a blend control where 12 o'clock is 100% direct / effect channel separation, turning clockwise shifts the reverb over into the direct out, and counter clockwise puts the modulated delay repeats there instead. Spacey... :idea

Anyway, if any more research and testing is to be done, count me in

Yeah thats what the MGMVibe is with amplitude off - great booster ...... but the EchoVerb is the opposite .... it drives me nuts when I kick in a delay and it changes my tone ..... this one you dont hear it engage, its just there ! and when you disengage, its just gone , no let down ... and thats the hardest one to do...

I completely agree with you Donner, I guess to try and be more clear, I really like a delay where the repeats carry some of the original signal weight in terms of "audio size" (I hope you know what I mean by that). The opposite of this would be a delay where the repeats sound thin. What I was wondering is if a pre-amp of some sort would help the repeats to maintain more weight, but still decay in a very natural way?

Hey Donner, CC me too please :)
I want to be prepared for this and the "double-candy" when they're released.
Might need to do some dothing myself ;)

We iz all going to be dothing I believe

I just had the extreme pleasure of spending an afternoon with a 1960's Binson echorec 2 and what struck me was how it felt like the walls of the room were pushed back somewhat and given a kind of molten ambience to them.. amazing

I am thinking... is this the kind of 'audio size' / boost being referred to by you Hawaii121? Of course there is a colouration with the Binson (kind of what you'd want anyway) but I am totally into your sneaky repeats Donner.. natural, organic and just there when you want them. I did a gig with a pushed Mesa mark amp and just a shade of Boss DM2 once and while it had its own thing going on, those gentle repeats in that venue and all the sweet spots in the right place was quite magical...

I hope and believe the echoverb will be just that.... magical

Good to see some interest in the Echoverb over here!

I'm really looking forward to getting the Bearfoot version also. Right now, I'm pairing my Echoverb with an El Cap... The Echoverb handles slap and longer dotted eighth type delays and the El Cap handles short, doubled lead sounds and ambient washes. I prefer the tone of the Echoverb though... It just sounds sweeter, warmer and more real to me, if that makes sense. It seems to be more present in the room than the El Cap (which I do really like). The repeats just have this lively punchiness them, the way I set mine... It's easy to dial back to make them more subtle and set that way it sounds really great too, but if you want them to stick out a bit like I do, the Echoverb also excels in that regard.

I guess the only thing I'll miss in replacing the El Cap is the ability to hold Tap for infinite repeats. I use that A LOT. I wonder if that feature could be incorporated into the tap functionality that's coming in the Bearfoot version?
