What BJFE(s) fill the "KLON" void for you? I have tried using some of my BJFEs to do similar, but the KLON hits the base tone void in my rig. My SYOD V2 4K comes close, but it brings something different to the table.

Cheers!

I'm probably not the best help here since the KLON thing just wasn't really what I wanted to hear. I found myself more drawn to the tones you get from using some of the BJFE drives to push an already overdriven amp, not necessarily KLON. Probably what you are doing with the SYOD is the same thing I was doing with (at different times) a HBOD, MG, AMWM, LGW, Flametop, or SHOD (MP pedal).

I've mostly been playing D-style amps and just don't want the extra mids added into things. I know there are guys with WAY more talent and experience than me who love the Klon with these amps, I just don't.

With my current amp, I have a FETT and a mid boost on the footswitch. It's kind of Klon'ish with that.

I wouldn't call the KLON an end-all-be-all for me, but it works. I run an old deluxe reverb mostly, so the added help is nice. I really like the Bearfoot Model G. I love my BJFE version, but the BF really comes close! It kicked my KLON off the board for a while. Now they are on there together.

I can imagine how a D-style amp doesn't need much help. :)

I had a hard time (for a long time) finding space for the LGW on my board. It took me forever to bond with it. Now, I dig it with the deluxe reverb.

So many tasty toys to use.

Have fun.

I've always attempted to keep my pedals mint but I could never do it with BJFE because of the paint haha. After a few services, the paint just falls off bit by bit. I've never tried a KLON. My first BJFE pedal was a DRD, loved it went into BJFE and never looked back!

I picked up an early Mythical od for $100 and I am very impressed! It is the first non-fuzz non-bjfe dirt pedal i have liked since i plugged into my first bjfe 6 years ago. I use it as a boost into a dirty amp and at the jam on Sunday it was all I used. I could probably do the same with a SBEQ or egdm or my BF egdm od, but just having it in my chain makes it sound bigger and better.

I still have not tried a baby pink booster, but maybe it could work about the same. It is nice to have the tone control and dirt knob though.
