Ahh...now that makes sense...that is what I'm experiencing and because it's set-up this way, hence the more favorable characteristics, especially when rolling down the guitar volume....less chaotic but more musical. I remember reading I think "Teahead" asking for a CAF with a faster gate a while back and I remember thinking the same thing at the time.
I find with the BF CAF, that's exactly what I heard right away, so is that the case or is it just a result of the set-up being less wild, allowing the gate to be more efficient?

whats funny - thru the Tourboxes is that almost to a person - everyone who never heard the BJFe loves the BF ...but the people that have herad an actual BJFe CAF comment that its not as nasty ..... and they are correct - its a bit smoother and cohesive on purpose for the masses as its a great solo tone I think ......there will be an evil version for those so inclined

Well, I'm very much partial to the wilder side of fuzz. I love my AWF and cranked BBOD for the less wild stuff, though.

What I think would really be cool is something TOTALLY nuts, like a CAF Deluxe with a built-in RRB to boost the front end, or a CAF Double Deluxe that's two-sided and the two sides can be stacked.
My rainbow of BJFe:

BJFe.org CB --> RRB --> PGC --> CAF 4K -->AWF! --> "Bjorn again" Phase 90 -->BBOD --> EGDM --> MG --> SBEQ --> BPB --> BJFe Echoverb

I believe that I have owned the BJFE versions of all these pedals, as well as the BF EGDM. Excited to taste the differences.

Donner, your description of this CAF being a bit tamed or more musically focused for lead work is very very appealing to me. I was blown away by the CAF while I had it, but it was a bit bright in my rig and a little too wild for me. If this is the CAF, but with a bit less roar and bit more of a smooth solo tone, could be a match made in heaven. Of course, the AWF with the Gain dimed and the tone knob all the way up was probably perfect for me, but sometimes I just want that octave chaos but without being quite so spitty...

Can't wait for the box to get here!

Had an emergency/set back last week, so will try to do some demos of the peds over the next 2 days with a follow up review, and send it on to "thiscall"...BTW, since you are so close to me, you should get it within a day from posting, or even if you want to meet somewhere to drop-off/pick up directly, just send a PM ...either way is fine by me.

Hey there,

PM me your info. and we'll get you on this list. I think the Tourbox still has two more stops anyway. I'd be happy to include you.

Doc :)
