Then when I need a little more output & fatness in the low mids the PH is the best! It sounds better than the mid boost in say an EMG active setup. Plus for when I want '90s Floyd tones it works perfect for that too. You really can get some thick fat BB King style leads put of a strat. It may be subtle but it works well and very natural. Just like a thicker humbucker pickup. (sure its never going to make a Strat a Les Paul) but P90 sounds seem very in its grasp!
Great with HB as you'll notice.....
Thanks! It is subtle, but I like what it does, as you say it is very natural sounding, it doesn't sound fake the way the midrange from say a Tubescreamer does. It really does sound nice with my Tele into PH into HBOD. I have to say, I am more and more impressed with the HBOD every time I play it (and the PH and RRB as well). Bjorn's pedals are one of only 2 brands I can say that about, the other is D*A*M. On a related note, I cranked up my amp (Maestro GA-16T) for the first time in awhile (everyone else was outta the house), and hit with the PH and RRB, and it was amazing, tonal nirvana!
