Roger that Cliff, I went with a single pole LED for the first one and it worked out OK. I may have a go at squeezing a bi-pole LED into the LED holder tomorrow an see how that works.
I had some teething problems building the first one:
First off I had soldered all of the Filter caps directly onto the board, then I realised that it was going to be a real tight squeeze so I opted to solder extra legs onto them and lean them over. A little heat shrink over the top just top be safe
.
Second problem was a broken wire to the BAT tab. Easy fix.
Now everything is working ( as far as I can tell ) and I had a quiet test run though an amp but I'll have to wait until tomorrow before I get to unleash it properly.
I think the next ones will be much quicker to build now i've figured it all out. Great kit Cliff, and awesome boxes Donner, sweet layout Bsic and of course, once again, hats off to Bjorn! Thanks to all who made this kit possible.
