Looking for a good boost/stacking option.

Postby cedjazz » Sat Oct 06, 2012 7:26 am

I am looking for a boost option for a mad professor mighty red distortion. I'm looking for something that's transparent. I like using a little green wonder to stack with the mighty red but sometimes I want a little less midrange than little green wonder has.

Are there any ideas out there? Basically I just want more of what the mighty red distortion has two offer. Definitely looking for something that stacks well with the mad Prof. pedals .

You might try the Green with more Voltage which seems to bring up the highs and lows a bit.

Or, you could try the MP Ruby Red Booster or BJFE Red Rooster Booster. The Ruby has a switchable buffer which is really nice and is pretty flat to almost Hi-Fi. The Rooster is beefier, especially at 18 Volts! I hear Bearfoot is coming out with a Baby Pink Booster, which I have never tried, but it might be just the ticket for your needs.
Gunbarrel Guitars, Evidence Audio wires.

I ordered the MP RRB so we'll see what happens. I like the buffer/bypass option.
