4 Knob EGDM

Postby iurod » Mon Jul 23, 2012 10:33 pm

So I got an email today from Thesegoto11 saying my name has popped up on the list and that I have the option of either the standard 3 knob EGDM or a rare 4 knob version that has the internal treble pot on the outside.

I purchased an EGDM about a month ago from Custom-Sounds... I thought about selling my 3 knobber and purchasing a 4 knobber but decided to hold back from the addiction tendencies and let her go and stick with the one I have. I still fell like :banghead

There were 15 of them only 4 with the 4 knob though.. I was one of the 15, I emailed them and told them to offer mine to the next person on the list. Let me know if it's you haha

Damn! I wish I got an email, I've been on both those lists a while now & would love a 4 knob. I got tired of waiting and bought one used but as usual much higher price. It has become my favorite medium gain distortion, can't say enough good things about the EGDM.
Sucks that I one of u got one a month ago & one this week, because that means it may be a year before more are produced. Bjorn will most likely cycle thru building other models before getting back to EG. That's how it goes, if you miss out when a batch comes in then it's a while until another.
Guess buying one used was right thing for me since I didn't receive emails from either place recently :(
Congrats in owning an EGDM though

Also, I wonder why not have them all with 4 knobs now? I mean I could see if 4th knob was extra control but if it's the same as internal trim pot they should sound the same between 3 knob & 4 knob....so if that's true seems better to just make them all 4.
I just keep getting in this situation, three pedals I bought (different brands) that had internal trim pots released versions with knobs for those features shortly after I bought mine. Usually the trim is something not needing adjusting much but it's so handy to have quick access provided it fits.
The EGDM treble adjustment would be great for me when switching amps to make pedal match perfectly. Bjorn's stock setting is damn good though, he's got a great ear for what sounds good!

I wish mine was a four knob... It'd be nice to have access to the trimmer when changing amps, since my pedals are literally screwed to my board! Oh well... I tend to mostly use one amp these days anyway... A Morgan AC20 Deluxe. For me, tuning the trimmer in the EGDM turned it from a pedal I really liked a lot into a pedal that I will have forever. It now melts perfectly into the Morgan. It's beautiful...

Just my email from Thesegoto11 and ordered a 3 knob. They had 7 of each left according to the email.

Wife won't really be happy as I have a Customshop BJFe on the way as well but I couldn't pass up on the EGDM, been wanting one for a very long time now.

I can solve that problem for you... give the 3 knob one to me. Then you won't have to be burdened with having two :joker

So many generous hearts here ;)

I kid but it's true anyway, there really are a lot of generous people here. I'm just excited for new BJFe goodness in the mail winging it's way to me from halfway around the world.
