I used the DRD to control the mids and highs, then used the HBOD nature knob to bring out the bass. It felt like I had an SBEQ in there when in reality it was just the two classics.

I'm really glad this thread was started. I am the first to admit I have overlooked the DRD in favor of other BJFE dirt. In the back of my mind I knew there were more DRDs out there than many of Bjorn's other designs. However, now that I have one on my board, it is quickly becoming my "go to" pedal for rock tones.

Yeah thats part of why all BJs designs stack so well is each has a different but complimentary EQ - so like with the DRD Treble control and the HBOD nature control you have a useful EQ stack.

I've tried stacking the hbod and the drd but I don't like them together nearly as much as I like one or the other stacked on the sbeq. With the sbeq, each just sounds so massive and even more complex!

Ah... wait until you try the DRDII with 4 knobs. I have not tried the stack with the 3 knob DRD, but the 4th knob allows for pretty sweet fine-tuning of EQ. Again, with the treble and mids controlled by the DRDII, and the bass being accented through the Nature knob on the HBOD, it's sort of like an enhanced SBEQ. I really think you should check out the new DRD when Donner and Bjorn release the 4K through the Bearfoot line. You may be surprised.

I might but i probably won't if I'm honest. I'm too dang content with the way I'm running the drd, hbod and sbeq right now. There are other things that are tempting me at the moment with a few from Bjorn (still want an egdm and an model G) and a few from Bearfoot (ahem, cough SYOD cough...cough). I'm not really one for the 4 knob pedals. I've mentioned before that one of my very favorite fuzzes is the Vintage Technologies Orange Sunshine which has no knobs at all. Less is more!

Playing out every night this week using my tele -> BJFe DRD -> ARDX20 -> tuner/bypass box mess -> Marshall 2061x into a Avatar 1x12 Greenback.

I'm in heaven! I'm digging around with with a great twangy growl in the bridge and deep dirt on the neck pickup. It's all I want.
