Folk Boost! Folk Boost!

um, anyone seriously against a Folk Boost as a start?

Ok, now for fine tuning things a bit, do we want a dirty boost or a cleaner boost? Fairly flat eq response or more treble/mids/bass or switchable? Variable gain if we go dirty? Bass/treble/mid knobs? More knobs or dead simple?

I've been reading about different tone stacks (HiWatt, various Fender tone stacks, Vox, etc...) in different amps, might be cool to try out one or two and see if they transition to pedals at all.

I would love to see something in the vein of the RRB as a folk project. That thing sounded soooooo good. I remember it being quite flat eq-wise and tight sounding. I don't have the slightest clue how that translates to parts layouts and whatnot, but if anyone else does, let's build it!

Ok switched my vote to a booster! Sounds like a good starting project.

Switchable buffer in the circuit or in the bypass? Not really sure what you mean I guess

Red Rooster Boost or Ruby Red Boost?

The Ruby looks like a treble boost into a flat eq boost with a master volume.

as far as a buffer goes, I suppose we could use the Folk Buffer Project for that circuit. I don't know if anything ever became of that or if any were built.

Red Rooster. I've heard the Ruby Red was nice, but the Red Rooster Booster was magical. I miss that thing.

I emailed Bjorn about us trying to get the Folk Forum up and running again, he's planning on sending my something to get started with in a few days. Busy time of the year right now for everyone pretty much.
