Hey Bobby,

Are you using a Stone Gray as well? How would you compare these two high gainers?

what a great sounding distortion. it has been sounding KILLER live -- and i keep trying to use other dirt pedals, but the model H keeps being the one i use 80% of the time or more! :music

Looking forward to the new vid style, bro....!
Yeah I think once you adjust to the feel of the H its hard to go back to something more restrictive ... maybe H stands for Freedom !!

man.......i kept trying to use OTHER dirt boxes all weekend long, but the H kept denying them. it seriously sounds GOOD, and cleans up better than the others, while still sounding powerful and focused. when playing it at bedroom levels, it sounds great -- but the true nature of the H is more revealed at gig levels -- it sounds DAMN GOOD at gigs!!!!

i even had to use a solid state combo amp for one gig this past weekend, and the H made it sound like a much more expensive tube amp!

this thing is a total winner!!!! :pedallove

I could not agree more. The Model H, to my ears, is the absolute best BJFE for higher-gain, live applications. As mentioned, it cleans up like a dream and can crush any amp into fantasic, thick, rich OD tones. I am so glad I did not let mine go before I played with it and found my favorite settings.

Still... gotta try the BBOD > MH stack, gents. It is AWESOME.

Cheers.

ALL RIGHT, Bobby. Now, compare your new impressions of the Model H with your old fave -- the Dyna Red. Pros/Cons of each in comparison to one another?

BTW, I LOVE the Model H for the same reasons you do. I think the pedal rocks hard!

Cheers (the DBD is safe and sound ;) ).

the dyna red is just amazing -- and it does the marshall "thing" quite well.

the H actually DOES sound like the Hiwatt style amp -- it has very little sag, more headroom, and a nice clarity that the DRD does not have. it is not BETTER......it's just different.

however, at gigs, i think the model H is very versatile and the clarity is NICE......i have been using it, and comparing it to many other dirt pedals, and the H ends up getting used 80% of the time.

i find that this version of the H has more gain than the earlier ones i have tried.

if there was ANY constructive criticism -- i would like to see a slightly different value or taper of the gain knob - the range is not as wide as i think it could be. i would like to see less gain at the left side, and maybe a touch more gain on the right side.

however -- that's a minor quibble -- the pedal sounds amazing, organic, and damn good at gig volume. it really rocks!

Hey Bobby ~ another great demovid,,,,, thanks !!

Yeah we have been slapping around the possibility of maybe a low gain H that would just have the lower gain side spread out over the dial so you could get down to almost clean and have more room to explore the edgy realm, as most of the people that would use it that way would never go much past noon on drive anyway and it is really good for Americana Alt country stuff in that range too.

Yes it would .... only problem is its not as simple as it sounds and would take a partial redesign since the stack would have to be restacked and realigned, but it is possible ... probably not this week
