Tonight I came home to a sweet sweet suprise. My pedals are now home! I plugged in right away, only for a little bit though...I just got a new (older) pug on Monday and I was home alone tonight so time was spent making sure he has a smooth adjustment to my home

I plugged in the HB first to see what all the fuss was about. I had to put a new battery in it, and unfortunately the battery I put in was on its way out. So I don't think I got a great feel for it. I did find a new battery for it a little bit ago. So I will have to play with it tomorrow. I did get a few good tones for the little while the battery worked.

The EGD was alittle different from what I remembered from my first one. This one was alittle more tame, I was watching the Tom Petty DVD Running Down a Dream earlier and I was nailing the sweet tone from some of the songs. The dvd now has me GASing hard for a ric

I want to try them out individually first to get a feel, then I'll go into some stacking recipes and see how my RRB works in with it. My SBEQ is en route and should be here hopefully tomorrow or Monday.

If anyone has some advice for recipes I plan on leaving the SBEQ on all the time.

The SBEQ landed today, so all pedals are accounted for and a little playing was in call for. I had experience from my first EGD, but for some reason my new EGD has a lot more feeling. I can feel and hear the compression that I didn't have with my first EGD. This is definately my new(?) favorite...I can feel some sweet pop rock and alt.country tones coming from that.

The HB is definately very responsive to guitar volume and pick attack. Sometimes I can barely tell it's on and then I goose it with a little guitar volume and the gind is there in spades. I'm still trying to find the sweet spot. I can't seem to find the honey syrupy sweetness...am I doin g something wrong? It seems a little brighter than I had expected.

The SBEQ is pretty sweet(even though the cosmetics are chipping away) it can definately put some of whatever is missing back into the signal. Paired with the RRB it was a tandem that made my Tophat CR HUGE and smooth, I'd like to see what the PGC could do in this mix someday, maybe it could put some deliberate chime .

I went for the gusto and put them all in the chain, and put them all on after getting somewhat of an initial feel. I had it like this
HB- V: 10'clock N: 2 D:2:30
RRB- G: 1
EGD- V: about 10 V: 2 D:about 10 (alittle lower than vol)
SBEQ-V: almost 12 B: 11 T: 2

this got recipe got me sustain galore with my tele on the neck pup and the tone rolled down...almost synth-ish like. In was running my amps mv pretty low(10:30 or 11) and input is about where I usually leave it(1 ish).

I need to get some more cables to get my TR2 and DL4 in the mix with these.

Sean what amp are you running into?
I am pretty familiar with your pedal stack the only one out of the bunch I dont play through is the SBEQ.
(and thats only because I havent got around to hunting one down,not because it didnt work for me.)
You will be able to cover a TON of ground with your setup,maybe I can suggest a few settings if you like.

I'm running a telecaster (am deluxe with harmonic design Vintage plus + and a glendale bridge with brass saddles) in to a Tophat Club Royale 2x12.

Sean ,I am running a Bill Nash Tele into a Hayseed 30.I jump the ef 86 into the top boost and run ef 86 abot 9 o'clock and top boost at noon so its nice and grindy .

Not really anything apart from a fuzz that could stop you from some juicy tones.
If I had a SBEQ my first inclination would be to put it at the end of the chain after the HB, but as you know these pedals will go just about anywhere.
Anyway this stack style gets the two cats ,Moppet and Floyd all worked up(in a good way)

right on. My CR doesn't have an ef86 preamp(but an amp with one is on my "someday list"), it runs 3 12ax7/ecc83, which I have a trio of Ei ECC83's in there.

Sounds like that chain is the way to go, I'll have to run it and see how my eyes light up. Now all I need is to get a trem that has more feeling and doesn't suck the batteries, tone and volume like my TR2...the MP trem has me interested, but I really miss the trem I had on my AC15, but I just don't miss the weight that "little" 1x12 combo had

The 65amps London seems like it would be a good amp to step up to, with the EF86 and trem and it seems like it would be a bigger and fuller amp than the Club Royale, and I've heard it takes pedals better too. I just need to test one out someday.

I'm not too experienced with fuzzes, the only fuzzy tones I have perked up to when I've heard are Neil Young, Son Volt, Led Zep, Cream, Beatles (Revolver on up) Wilco, Superdrag, Teenage Fanclub, and Smashing Pumpkins...and I know there is probably no (one) fuzz that could capture all of that in one box. So, I wanna focus on what fuzz sounds I can apply to what I do (power-pop, alt.country, folk, rock)...

I,ll tell you what,it looks like we have very similar tones running through our heads right now.

Thanks for the order advice guys! I think the RRB>HB>SBEQ kills for rhythm. I honestly can get over how thick(compressed?) my new EGD sounds compared to my old one. I always thought of this as a brighter pedal. I did buy my first one used, so maybe the previous owner(s) tinkered with the trimmer. I was having a great time then the volume pot on my guitar crapped out so now it goes from off to full blast and it can spin freely with no stopping. I may just upgrade the crappy stock electronics, I have been contemplating, because it is a great guitar otherwise.

I will try those setting mopfloyd.
