Purple Humper..

The more I play with the PH, I could see this becoming the most valuable pedal on my board. I could easily live with the PH > PGC > SBMV and ditch the drives. The PH > PGC combo gets an amazing clean sustain effect. I can set it up where I don't hear the limiting of peaks, but the fade is sustained. Similar to the outro piano chord on A Day in the Life. Jdandry got me thinking. How about a Bearfoot SBEQ Deluxe with a Purple Humper up front?
That would be fun.

Why not just replace the volume knob with the purple humper circuit for a Bass/Mid/Treble EQ. Or if the boost can get out of hand make it a 4-knobber. That would be pretty cooool

I've always wanted a mid-boost on my SBEQ! you know, with the bearfoot brand there's a lot of cool stuff that can be made that all of us have wanted for a long long time! So many interesting combos that we can all get.

Yeah me too - I think maybe a SBEQ mid control and the Humper are two different things ...

I would use the Humper before dirt and the SBEQ at the end of the dirt section ------ but it would be a great excuse to have two EQs !!!

I think the PH/SYOD combo would be cool. I say this in theory because I've never had experience with either pedal.

yup its a specialty pedal and one reason they werent regularly produced --- definitly try it before AND after your drives !! it also has a nice effect on modulations ...

Hmm... I will have to try it after drives. I assume after will give a mid push without increasing the distortion since the level increase isn't going into the drive. Verrrry interesting...

Yupper --- and really the Humper is even better after fuzzes that sound cool but dont cut in a mix - it accentuates the mids with mudding out - turns a fuzz into an OD ---- this is a take off of running a fuzz into a tube screamer to make a singing od --- but this way it still sounds like a fuzz ....

Yup, good for playing your strat as a strat and then going to the bridge pup and the humper for Tush how how how how

BTW, for those of you single coil users who are lusting in vain, as I am, for a PH, if you have a RRB that might not get you the same results as a PH, but the RRB will definitely thicken things up in a similar fashion. The RRB, just another one of those great BJFE "one knob wonders" that do so much; in this case, giving you a range of options from subtle boost with some added warmth right up to overdriven mayhem!

I can attest. I waited a long time to bag my RRB, and it makes a hell of a difference. I am so impressed by how it can crush an amp. The thickening and sweetening provided makes everything around it sound better, and I can run my guitar with the volume down to clean things up (what a surprise). The RRB is a one-knobbed-wonder.

One might find a thickening from the SBEQ as well when using the Treble and Bass controls as cuts.
