A few SBMV questions

Postby scottcw » Fri Jun 03, 2011 12:54 pm

I recently won a SBMV on eBay and have a few questions in anticipation...

What velocity setting for the large cup size matches the factory setting for the internal trimmer of the small cup size? In other words, what o'clock should I set the velocity control to have the same bpm when switching between cup sizes? I ask because I want to make sure the internal trimmer is set correctly.

Does the internal trimmer for amplitude come factory set at unity gain or slight boost?

How is the internal trimmer for small cup size amplitude set from the factory?

Thanks in advance.

Well the thought behind this one is that the Mini vibe sounds better at full throb on slower speeds and less amplitude on faster speeds - so what you have is full cup slow speed - small cup full speed ----- sort of the slow speed at Trower univibe rate and the other is the fast Vibratone cab sound ---- or thats the way I think of it ~ slow Trower, fast SRV ~~~ not sure if that actually answers your question

I understand the differences in the 2 cup sizes, I am trying to get information to make sure that the trimmers are set to the factory settings.

Ok, welll I believe they leave Bjorns hands with the internal speed on the small cup setting all the way up and the depth down...

the top controls effect the 'regular' setting..... so you are stomping back and forth between a regular MGMV and a second internal setting that has the smaller cup and faster speed......

Thanks. Does anyone have any internal pics that show the factory settings for the trimmers? I just want to see if they are in the ball park. Thanks in advance.
