I actually sold a lot of things for less than the market price too. Remeber selling a PGC for 400$ (completely mint!) and then seeing them for 900$ on ebay a week or two later ! Such is life.

Yeah this is one that is really good to just get your amp cooked and use the volume control to go between lead and rhythym settings :music

I have tried so many pedals. And for what I'm going for NOTHING has come close to the Model R. Been using it in front of a JCM 800 for high gain tones and in front of black face style Fenders for nice in-between dirt. The Model R is worth it's weight in gold. Good luck to the seller and buyer.

Well I think I may be a little crazy but I was the lucky winner of the Model R!!!

I went from no BJFE's to 4 (HBOD, BBOD, Model H, & Model R) in 2 weeks.

A question for any of you that have had experience with the Model R:

I see it described as a "DRD on steroids" by some, but the reference library lists it as being based on a different circuit.

Will having the Model R "replace" the need for a DRD or are they different enough that there isn't a lot of overlap in tones and having both would not be redundant?

Thanks!

The stress over which BJFE pedal to get next goes away once you come to the realization that you will own them all one day anyway.

Congratulations! That is one KILLER pedal! I personally think the Model R does more than enough to where you wouldn't really need a DRD. From every clip I have heard, I prefer the Model R to the DRD. That said, you could always pick up a DRD from Bearfoot at a pretty awesome price and try them side by side.

Congrats on winning the auction! It's an expensive pedal but it's also my favorite dirt sound ever.

In response to your question, I have never understood all the DRD comparisons. They do not sound similar to me AT ALL. The DRD has much more mid-emphasis to me, which leads to a "crunchy"-er sound. The Model R has much more low-mid emphasis, resulting in a "huge" sound (which can be problematic for certain rigs).

I would also say that it seems to me that the DRD sounds better with a much wider range of setups than the Model R.

Hope this helps. Congrats again!
