I liked it set up. LGW > MH > DRD > CHII > HBOD > SBEQ. The headroom is so high on the cliff hanger that you can run anything into it. I do only own single coils, so it was hard to run above noon as it became too bright, but the SBEQ fixes that.

Have fun with the CHII! I really like the G-2, but it does sound a bit different than my friends G-2. The g-2 has a ton of gain, so I wonder about the SS-3. I suppose I should get on the list since it will be a year before I have to decide.

Yeah I really liked the CH II into the SBEQ with the cut to around 9 O'Clock, it was a really complex, singing lead tone.

The CH II is a phenomenal pedal. If i didn't have the Model R, the CH II would have been my go-to drive.

Yes the CH2 is a bit of a one-trick pony but if it does that trick better than the rest (and it does) then who cares!? :D

I have to say it is (was) by far the best high-gain distortion I've heard. I just don't use high-gain distortion much so it was hard to justify keeping it. For those rare instances the DRD with gain and treble cranked gets close enough for me. Glad it found a good home

CH2 has a lot of versatility, beyond the high-gain-mayhem. I can attest to sonic's findings.

Of course, the first thing I did when I received my CH2 was to crank its distortion and tone to the max (gotta test the capabilities), but sitting down with it caused me to realize how useful it is at lower gain settings. Utilizing the extreme output the pedal provides can do wonderful things in conjunction with different amps and pedal stacks.

Definitely a beast, but it can be tamed and shaped to work really well in different applications. I wish I could compare to a DRD in person to consider the versatility of each, but all I have is the MHtv2 (a similar, but distinct comparison).

I do wish there were a way to eliminate or attenuate a portion of the output range on my particular CH2 to offer more of a sweeping flexibility. 8:00-8:30 is about unity. 12:00 is incredibly powerful. 3:00 is over-the-top. 5:30 goodnight!

I have owned many many different pedals and amps over the last twelve years. I'd say as a rough estimate thirty pedals and ten different amps. I had a Goodsell G5 when I won a CH1, and when I got it I plugged it in,
It sounded OK when I fooled around with it at different settings. Then I dimed the dist. on the pedal and the tone knob on the amp, and I got a sound that was just i-n-s-a-n-e. It was this sUPER trebly tone but not so much that it sounded harsh. I had never heard an amp/pedal combination that knocks me out like this did. The only thing was that that was the only setting it sounded good on. when I turned any of the knobs in any other postion, that high magic was gone. I have yet to get that sound out of any other amp or pedal. In fact, Fugot has one for sale right now (a G5) and I am really thinking hard about pulling that trigger.

Its weird, when I got it I had the same urge to crank up the distortion and rip it. Nowadays i'm using it at pretty low gain as well. It has a trebly sound thats pretty nice and suits well when matched to others. But I still love that grind though!

and btw, a thanks to sonic for making me think about that. Before he mentioned it I never really dabbed into the more quiet side of the CH2!
