so, I've been completely thrilled just jamming around with this pedal on my own time.

Finally got to try it out tonight with the band.

Absolutely killed. I found myself leaving it on nearly the entire evening.

It just sat perfectly in a band mix and sounded just as good when blended with other instruments. I don't think this thing will ever leave my board.

My favirote BJFe yet! Works for so many things..Such a difference from low to high on the gain control, I for sure could justify having two! My only issue with it is that the volume control is a little too sensitive. I use mine at 18v. and to tell you the truth, I've never really listened to it too carefully with 9v. The 18v just works for me. Congrats on the pedal! If I had to choose one it would be the EGDM.....but haven't tried a PPF yet, that might change things!

Yes, this pedal is truly great. Donnel sent me his a month or so ago and have been having blast with it. Funny thing is that it sounded great since the first time so i haven’t even messed with the trim pot yet. It so nails Mary Jane’s Last Dance tone. It took me a bit of tweaking in both the pedal and on the guitar’s knobs to get close to it. I have only tried it at 9v. When i re-arrange my board, i’ll try it with different voltages.

It also stacks very very well with other pedals. So far i have tried it at the beginning of the chain, as Bjorn’s recommendation. and sometimes give it more grit with a WIIO and other times mellow it a bit with the HBOD. I want to keep stacking it with other od’s though.

Williamh, i am glad you are liking the pedal a lot and that it sounded killer with the band. What settings are you usually using on yours? I tend to leave the voice and distortion at around 11. The volume depending on the guitar.

My favorite setting so far as been with the distortion around 12:30/1, the volume around 9 or 10, and the voice as far counterclockwise as it will go(around 7 i'd guess if you were going for clock positions, but regardless as far that direction as it can be). It gives a great uncompressed tone that sounds huge. It seems like it would be a strange setting since everything I've read recommended turning the voice knob up as you turn the gain up. Then again, I didn't read that until after I'd already played around with the pedal for a considerable amount of time. The voice knob is probably one of the coolest features of this pedals, as it can give it so many different sounds.

Howdy me lads, I'm Idar- how are ya? This topic is in my binocular view of interest as I've just put myself on the list for a EGDM at custom-sounds. Have read the EG pairs up great with the HB, which I've had for two months now and I dig it utmost!

The voice knob is probably one of the coolest features of this pedals, as it can give it so many different sounds.

Same with the Nature knob on the HB, very expressive. I like to turn it almost fully CCW to get a bassy drive with fat overtones on the distortion. Can't wait to try it with the EGDM and find out about the stackability of BJF pedals is all about. Hoping the wait won't be too long!

also, am I right in saying that the voice knob on the pedal is essentially a compression knob? It just seems to add more compression to the sound the more you turn it up. Less clarity but more open and more body to it when it's back off, and more clarity and tightness but less "big" sounding when turned up.

The drive and voice knobs sort of simulate what happens to a Vox type amp as you turn it up
more compression and sustain and distortion
treble roll off and the bass becomes less sturdy

start with them both counter clockwise and move them up together a bit at a time all the way thru and youll hear it


the internal trimmer should help make this response appropriate for the speakers you are using...

...Would it be appropriate to use the EGDM with a Fendery amp or it be used as an "extension" of a Vox amp?.. Like an extra channel or something?
