would the forest green comp be better for me?

Postby williamh » Sun Oct 17, 2010 3:52 pm

I always read about the pine green comp being a great "sweetener" and subtle, but I thinl I may be seeking a little more than that so I'm actually debating going the forest green route instead. I am however looking for a quiet compressor and wondering if the forest green is as quiet as the pine green? Also can it get close to the pine green sound if dialed in properly? I just typically prefer a less subtle compression but don't want to give up the quality sound that the pine green would provide.

well you can certainly get some effect type compression with the PGC dimed - it IS a compressor - its just the subtle end of it is rather amazing and gets the most comments

Got a forest green comp in the mail today. Just plugged it in, and my initial thoughts are that it is definitely a keeper. Completely content with my decision to go ahead and pick one up rather than waiting for a PGC to pop up.
