Hi,

No, I haven't changed the look of CAF. CAF is just a one of custom. The box design on CAF 122 is made by an artist as an example of going a bit funky actually the white 'skirt' is meant to show contrast and create a table surface sort of. There's only one made like this with yellow text also it has an amber LED.

Inside it is a CAF. I'll try to when time is given to write a little about the CAF circuit as in how it was developed and three changes made during it's life. This the CAF 122 is just as the later CAF's and thus has a wider range of FUZZ as suggested by session guitarist Sebastian Nylund who wanted to get more synth like sounds and then would lower volume on guitar to get fuzz low enough.

So changes occoured like this first a pair of transistors were replaced with lower beta trannies: this was done when there were about 13 units made
then FUZZ control was modified to give access to lower settings; and finally after discussion with Teahead who wanted to get the the perfect balance between gating and playability beyond setting of Nature another trimming point was set to allow this and this totals CAF as one of the models with the most amount of trimming involved only surpassed by MGMV DLX in that respect.

I was anyway so pleased with the idea that Teahead presented that CAf's made after that all have this set; the circuit gives anyway many settings making this easily overlooked and you'd really have to get deep into playing the CAF to notice.

When CAF 002 was made and sent to FUZZ magazine for review it was not reviewed as they have a policy of only reviewing things they like and noone understood the sound of CAF and later they did tell they try to get the King of Cheese to do the review and it was in fact the King of Cheese that once came with a bag of cheesy fuzzpedals to my shop to have the restored enough to stand the next tour with his band and many of those I could I repaired I could not tell if they actually were working correctly due to the sounds they made so I had to call the King of Cheese down to the shop and tell if they were and so I asked him what he liked about these boxes and he told me of the dying moans and the farting gate sounds et.c et.c and now these were all made such that they could not stand heavy touring which gave the idea of making one fuzzbox that could......this lead to a number of fun stories

Just a short little story about CAF and more elaborate later.

Indeed theskjexperience: perhaps due to transatlantic disturbances I made some vibes but I have some CAF's planned and those will look as per 2004 with golden text on red.

About the colour of CAF it was from the beginning seethrough red and the first ones were made in nitro and with black text. I thought that the sound of CAF was of such nature that it needed this shiny cherry red and it'd be the beauty and the beast.......black letters were however hard to see and so gold was choosen to make text more visiable

Have fun

Thanks for all the info!

I can't wait to get it in the next couple weeks. Not sure how long shipping from Europe to Washington DC USA is but if it's anything like Custom Sounds it'll be another 2+ weeks before I get it...

Although I'm sure it'll be worth the wait :D
