SBEQ + PGC ==

Im loving the combo of the SBEQ + PGC, which a lot of you had recommended and use yourselves. Am I alone in thinking these would make a great 2 in 1 pedal (with fx loop perhaps to route other pedals between the comp/eq)? Or, has this been done already in some deluxe pedal....

Sonic, "tone machine" was exactly what I was thinking too. Maybe no paint at all, and call it the "Clear & Clean Tone Machine"...

Speak up if you'd like this folks, perhaps we can convince Bjorn to do a small run of these!?

Yeah, its a classic stack. Typically we all run the pGC at the beginning and SBEQ at the end, though i'd have to try your setup bsic. Watch out of the cleans! I find that some distortions muffle the sound of the PGC but the SBEQ always comes through beautifully. 2 of the most basic pedals for any BJF fanatic (like me)

you have to have the PGC and SBEQ separate

because anything you put in between them suddenly sounds ten times better

double pedals usually SEEM like a very cool idea.....but then when you think about it more, you realize that it's best to have separate pedals, in case you want to stack things, or try a different pedal order, etc.

PGC in front, and SBEQ at the end.......everything in the middle sounds GOOD!

Actually you may do best by having both the "Sea Green Tone Machine" and a separate SBEQ. I find that if I could, i'd have two SBEQ on my board

yeah when setting up a board to play for awhile I usually set up

wahs/filters/octaves > frequency modulations > fuzz / dynamic drives > PGC > all other drives > SBEQ > time modultions / stereo outs



but yes an additional SBEQ before the drives would be useful as changing the bass predrive can have a huge effect on distortion response ...

so the combo before and another SBEQ after could be quite useful....

Exactly. Right now i have my comp and SBEQ after the drives, and always on. There are times i would like to have a light compression before my drives for an intentionally non-dynamic OD behavior. Would like to have a setup like this:

PG comp (low setting) -> drives -> comp/EQ (combined?) -> modulation -> amp

This would also free me up to add my existing SBEQ in the loop of my amp for final shaping before hitting the power amp. While a lot of folks do separate the two pedals, i think combining them can have great benefits, at least for my rig!!

another consideration for that partial predrive comp would be the MP FGC in sustain mode .... great drive booster ...
