Another Tophatter here. Yeah JKoeth, you've converted me also. After reading your threads on the TH Forum for the past couple years, I finally broke down and bought a LGW. Fantastic pedal, and now I want more. I've been scouring TGP, Ebay and this forum daily for used BJF pedals. Really want to get a EGDM next.

I'm conviced more and more that a boost pedal is really the best thing for an AC30 type amp like my CR. If you run cleaner, a dist like the EGDM is perfect. If you dial the gain down, it can be used as a Vox flavored boost. It's not as transparent as the RRB though. The EGDM's lows are tapered a bit just like a Vox.

I just got the MP tourbox and tried the LGW for the first time. The LGW has more low end than the EGDM depending on how you dial it. The EGDM has more texture and dirt around the edges which is what I like. It is my numero uno!

I had the EGDM for a year (before a hair brained move led me to sell it), and it's definately a match made in heaven with the CR, and gives it a huge kick in the pants, I'm currently in line for a new one along with a HBOD. wish I had a time machine sometimes

I was lucky enough to find a good deal on a RRB, and that things is necessary for those who use teles...sounds pretty good with my LP too, setting the RRB around 11-1 o clock bring madness to an edge of break up CR, it just adds that extra (sparkle, fatness, oomph) to your base amp sound.

the LGW sounds like a great pedal too, seems like the bass response would sound great to put alittle more oomph into a BF Fender.

My Ambassador 50 has been my #1 gigging amp for about a year now, great pedal base. The fact that the Mid control is seperate from the Treble and Bass makes it such a versitile amp. I've had good luck with a Tim getting great low gain sounds, and a Fuzzhead for my lead sounds, but just couldn't find the right pedals to get the in-between stuff. I think the LGW will fit this bill with the gain backed off a little, but would really like to use it for solo's with more gain and purchase a EGDM for the in-between stuff. Just some thoughts.

Zion on this board has a RRB for sale that I was thinking of buying. Besides the EQ ability of the Tim, what are the differences?

I have no experience with the Tim, I've heard awesome things about it though. Everytime I've tried to get one readily available they've seem to have gone quick.
The RRB, depending how you have it and your amp set, can go from an all around clean boost, to a mean machine. I believe I read somewhere it can boost your signal up to 35 dbs. Right now, until I get my HBOD and EGDM, I've been setting my amp for a nice loud edgy base, putting the RRB at 1 o clock-ish and just using my guitar volume to control clean/dirt flavors. I just got my tele back from the shop (got a new bridge installed and a check up set up intonation done), I never thought I sounded better or felt better playing...then I kicked off the RRB and everything went flat In my experience it just adds a brilliance to my tone that I haven't been able to get with anything else.

I'm sure Jkoeth can give a better evaluation, since he has more experience with it. I've only had mine since June and no gig or recording opportunities with it yet.

As much as I'll probably regret it down the road, I'm going to put my Tim up for sale in favor of a smaller footprint boost pedal.

I bought a 40x20 Classic Pumaboard a couple of weeks ago and have had 2 Axxess GRX4 switchers for a couple of years now. "40x20" is a good size pedalboard, but once I put the midi controller on it, even with mounting the power supply under the board doesn't leave alot of room for pedals.

But I'm hooked, just bought a used EGDM off TGP, should have it next week. If your interested in the Tim, let me know

As far as the RRB goes. I friggin' LOVE IT!

It is the most open and natural and HUGE sounding pedal. I prefer natural tube drive to pedals when I can have it and the RRB kicks it in the ass. The EGDM is more comressed and flavored which I sometimes want. But, I could be happy with just my Tele, delay and the RRB. It really helps when rolling your guitar's volume down too. You don't lose the highs as much. Man, the RRB is voiced so well for Teles. I've owned 2 versions of the KOT which are voiced well for T style guitars too. See which ones have stayed?

I also loved the Pro Analog Boost Royale and plan on getting one as soon as they are available again. By the way, I owned a Timmy and thought it was great but also thought it was a little too gritty (since then, Paul has changed the design a bit to correct this I've heard). I sold it once my EGDM arrived as it suited my needs better. I do miss it sometimes but I have so many great pedals now. The Eternity lived shortly with me as well and I'm considering another one.

I'm planning on adding to the fold a new CAF which I ordered a few months back, the MP Trem, MP Phaser, VCF and a few others. I'm running out of room!!!!!!!!!!!!!

man, that pedal board gets me everytime.

as soon as some charge cards get paid off, I'm going to get a board, by that time I should have my EGDM and HB I probably need something no wider than a 22''. I don't want a huge amount of effects, only a couple dirt boxes, boost, (maybe)fuzz, delay, trem, (maybe)mod, (maybe)comp, (maybe)eq, tuner, maybe a wah and volume pedal, but I think I would keep those on the floor. I still have a while before anything happens.

I've been playing the RRB by itself lately, currently the only drive/boost pedal I own. I should try putting it with my DL4...and see what is up with my TR-2.

congrats on the EGDM, what number did you get?

I think my EGDM is number 82. I've had it for a few years actually. It's great.
