Hmm a Dyna Red is a Dyna Red whatever the paint job. The Model has either the swirly paint job or the Sparkly one. The Sparkly one is actually much cooler in my opinion even though the one I own is the swirly one. Does that change the sound? Absolutely not. Its the same circuitry one way or another. Personally though, you gotta love the true sparkly finish of the Model H and Sparkling Yellow OD.

Someone actually has both an early version of the Red Rooster with Flat paint job and a newer one. He actually loves the flat paint one much more than the more recent one. Go figure. I thought all circuits were the same but maybe they've evolved slightly from earlier versions. So I guess its not really a question of paint job but more of when the modifications to the circuits came in place.

well they are ALL handmade and ear optimized so there will be variation - each pedal is the best it can be - but the pot settings may need to be slightly adjusted to get the same sound between each unit - thats one thing pots are for

I've read about the trim pot on the forum ( I think on a EGDM thread ) but have yet to be familiar with how to go about it. I'll open up my pedals tonight but what am I looking for?

I think that people see the flat paint jobs as being more collectible since they aren't being made that way anymore...

So maybe someone can fill me in on where those infamous trim pots are ? I opened up my SBEQ and couldn't find anything there that was obvious . Are there only specific models that can be adjusted ?

I guess this is what I was referring to. When you mean the pot settings, are we referring to the "Nature"/"Tone" controls or some other setting in the pedal.
