I wanted to refresh my memory and played the CH 2 today. It is an awesome pedal. I was shocked that it sounded BETTER then I remembered it sounding. Very tight and thick... The pedal is perfect the way it is in my opinion. Something else would be something else...

That's cool that it works for you as is, though I'm not talking about something else, I think I clearly mentioned the possibility(and it's just my take on it), that this great sounding pedal could be AMAZING with more bottom end.

In addition, having a more overall use-able frequency range on the tone control, not just for my needs, but just to be more versatile overall, to get THAT tone, with single coils through a Fender say, as with your Paul through the Hiwatt.

I might easily say you wouldn't get nearly as close with your Tele through the Hiwatt in standard tuning, and in that mode, you certainly wouldn't be nudging that tone control past 1 pm on the dial, and my point is, that's a lot of leftover travel left in the pot's rotation.

Believe it or not, but the Tele sounds great through the CH 2 into my HIWATT. It's just not the single coil tone I'm chasing... Naturally, the tone control on the Tele bridge had to be set to about seven and the gain on the CH 2 turned down.

I have figured out how to get a good tone out of the CH 2 into a Top Hat amp as well!

... yeah the CH is mostly about the relationship between compression and harmonic distortion in higher gain type amps - the EQ is neutral on purpose with just the treble which brings focus to the edge of the sound - once you change the EQ, especially in the lower ranges the compression 'feel' changes too ---- so the best thing to do is use it with an SBEQ after it if you need to adjust the overall EQ..... the neutral EQ also makes it easier to just add that sound to a 'stack' --- like laying the CH into an HB as is my favorite or into an LGW..... or into a ~~~~~~

I really like the CH2. Usually alone, but into the HBOD, as with so many others, it is a nice variation. I've been suffering lately as my daughter studies here a lot and I must squuelch my desires to crank it up ... but it is the right decision right now. I will have plenty of time to get back with the sonic tools ane appropriate volume. Cheers! And the Saints go marching in, right now!!1 Dang Good......

i don't know....but i hope the CHII makes it into the new MP line......i think it is the KING of all high gain distortions i have ever tried.....

Well i've had it for a few weeks now and can attest to the fact that its a beautiful high-gain pedal. Pretty much "the sound" i was looking for. Sure you can stack it with the HB or pretty much any other OD if you'd like but its one of those pedals that to me just works. I can pop it on and be pretty amazed by the sound. Just a nice, complex, open distortion. To anyone out there waiting for one : its well worth it !

Yep, its not a multi-trik pony but damn, what a great big distortion sound!!!!!! Open, clear yet very big. I really love it. By far my favorite distortion pedal.
