See my review on page 9 of the Rocketride tourbox thread. Also, I think Bobby D. did a demo vid (youtube) of the Rocketride.

Ultimately, it will be a subjective decision on your part, as they are both top-quality wahs. Personally, I don't like the newer Teese wahs with the "Fuzz friendly" buffer circuit; I have two older Teese wahs I like a lot. As you can see from my review, I was quite impressed with the Rocketride. They do sound different.

yep.......

the Rocketride just had the right sound and feel right out of the box, didn't need any options or switching or any of that stuff.

to MY ears, it just sounds like a REALLY good vintage clyde mccoy sound of wah, but optimized for distorted guitar.

it's a great wah, and ended my search for the "right" wah as soon as i tried it!

Sorry, I was thinking Teese Picture wah but didn't write it. Thanks for the replies, I think
I'm going to go with a old non-fuzz frendly Teese Picture. Thanks again sonictroubadour for the DRD,
love it, so many tones in that box!- John

That will be very much in vintage Crybaby territory, albeit with a wider sweep. Excellent wah. Quite different character from the Rocketride.

I've A/B ed old and new Pic Wahs - you definitely want to find yourself an older one.

ultimately, it depends on what sound you desire

Absolutely, which brings us back where this started.

"One trick pony" is a fair characterization of the Pic, compared to modern wahs with lots of extra controls. But for the repertoire I most often play, the Pic wah is perfectly suited, and I alternate between it and several vintage Crybabys; lately I've been using the RMC1 due to more 'hard rock'-oriented gigs. The Rocketride would be another good choice for that sort of thing.
