Bjorn... question about my EGDM's birthdate

Postby cedjazz » Thu Nov 26, 2009 2:24 pm

I'm just getting into my EGDM. I've played it with Vox and Marshall style amps and it excells at both. 2 things though: How does the trim pot work? CCW=darker? Also, mine doesn't have a serial number under the battery or on the backplate so I don't know it's birthdate...

Hi,

There were two of those that went without getting their serial number and those were of the top of my head in a batch of 8 units around 70 and by that I could tell you when your was made while I'll need another computor for that.

I'll get back on that

Ah, well I am happy to hear that it works fine with your gear.

About the trimmer it is wired with only two terminals and can therefore be installed two ways making rotation ccw or cw something I don't find too critical as it is a trimmer and one I'd trim by ear.

How I'd set this is by first settin trimmer to darkest setting and then listening as I slowly turn to just where treble changes ...

Have fun

.....Thanks for the info. I wish I had total recall like you...haha..........I really dialed in the EGDM today that gave me a very cool "lower mids" open type tone. dynamic as well. I placed a Timmy in front but I'd really love to hear the RRB more so.

Hi

Oh far from total recall I am afraid. However I did look it up and the closest I can get is a batch made in June 2005.

Timmy driving EGD I haven't tried as my Timmy is out on loan since a few years ahum.........
However RRB is otherwise my favourite drive to pump EGD - those go together for various reasons.
