oh yes.....used it tonite at a gig!

first thoughts...VERY nice sounding lower gained OD pedal. i was doing a smooth jazz sort of gig, backing up a local sax player (yes.....i know....smooth jazz  )

but the bandleader actually complimented my tone the first set, i used Folk Driver by itself with a little deep blue delay as my main sound the whole set. very nice, rich, and deep sound.

i didn't get that dynamic honeybee "thing" that the honeybee has, but i know this is not a "clone", it is soulsonic's take on a lower gained style OD.....and i liked it a LOT.

gonna do a proper demo tomorrow, i think it will STACK very very well........

until then, here's a little taste from tonite

compared to SHOD, it is different. SHOD is a bit "zingier" and has more gain.

however.

i REALLY like soulsonic's folk driver. the bandleader REALLY liked it, he had not previously complimented my tone before at gigs.

so........it "cut the mustard" at a smooth jazz gig.

my apologies to soulsonic for using his beautiful pedal at a smooth jazz gig. i will make sure to RAWK IT for my demo, then it is off to CABO! 8)

Cool! I'm glad the bandleader is so impressed with it; it's good to be able to impress non-guitarists with something. I'm also happy to know that you're using it for something I'd never play personally. I want it to be good for a variety of situations, and don't know how I would be able to test it for "smooth jazz" myself, since I have no idea what that's even supposed to sound like! Whenever I hear a smooth jazz song, I pretty much just hear a bunch of bland soprano sax... then I turn the radio off.
