well, i think most OD type pedals are gonna have SOME sort of compression, even slight....i have used the LGW as a clean boost, and it can do that.

we will test them out after next week at the store, and run them into something nice.....you guys have such a great selection of amps.

and i am dangerously close to considering ordering a suhr.....john said he would make what i wanted, and i told him i would do it thru MAE 8)

you bring YOUR pedals, and i'll bring MINE, and we'll have a little pedal party in the boutique room. maybe we can get jeff and ken to check them out while i am there, i wanna talk ken into getting the MP pedal line at the store, so they will be available down here in south florida!

Hmm, but you know how the Fulldrive on the comp-cut setting sounds, right? It's basically a clean boost with an EQ. I guess I'll just have to hear those Mad Professor pedals for myself.

Suhr makes great guitars, man...please talk with ME if you decide to pick one up! :P I just sold my personal Suhr Classic T, and it was AMAZING, but Tele's just never end up working out for my style. I've been thinking about spec'ing out a Classic (Strat) with a HSS configuration, or a triple P-90 setup, to try something different. Might be the best of both worlds...25.5" snap, with some fatter mids. However, Suhr has a shorter scale set neck guitar in the works...maybe for next year. May have to hold out for that. MAN, sorry for taking this thread so OFF TOPIC!

yeah, the fulldrive is a great pedal......we will have to A/B the LGW and fulldrive, and see how they stack up for ya!

suhr......drool......i was thinking one of his "antiques", strat style, HSS pickups, maple neck, 6000 huge frets SS, fat neck, lightweight alder body, pull switch to give "tele" sound, and maybe a demeter mid boost or something.

how long is the wait usually? it will be a while before i can AFFORD it

One of the features of the LGW is its headroom and lowered compression and distortion complexity and with the body control you can bring the bottom back up - so yes I think an LGW would quickly replace the FD2 comp cut setting....
and as Bobby uh Slim mentioned the SHOD may also find its way onto your board....

and the SBEQ is also definitly worth trying in that spot....

depends how much compression and drive you want from the amp and how much from the pedal - ( Is this a two 'channel stepped' rig or an 'everything always on' using your guitar volume control setup ??)

ok back to the socializin'

Hi there, Donner! The Hot Cat is a very low compression amp, especially on the clean channel. I generally like to keep this feel intact, since it just sounds so beautifully raw boosted up without any compression. However, into other amps, I'd like to have the option to introduce some clipping/distortion or light compression from the pedal(s). Since I have two inputs on the HC30, I have the option to run two separate effects paths. At first, I ran from the guitar right into the Bad Cat ABY, into two separate effects paths. But sometimes I wanted to use some of those effects together, so now everything is before the ABY, and I have my RC-2 Loop Station and Tuner in the aux out for silent tuning and practice at home. I definitely need to be able to footswitch between two channels for my current band, though.

I guess we'll just have to see!

Usually 2-4 months for a custom build, but if you snag one from the recently completed "homeless" pieces, I can probably get you a better deal.

I actually ended up picking up a Way Huge Pork Loin, as another option, due to the clean blend control and ability to adjust the presence on the overdrive. That may get me the last 5% of tone that I feel I'm missing with the Fulldrive. It's funny how terrible that pedal sounds into a solid state amp, and how great it is into a "real" tube amp! We'll see how the Pork Loin works out, however, I may go for the SBOD as well. Can never have too many effects boxes!
