It's a crime the EGDM only has three posts so I'm going to add.....the EGDM is the greatest for straight up rock n roll and alt country stuff. So rich.

I had one for a year and sold it (like an idiot). I have #2 on order along with a HB. I remember it being a huge pedal, very alive and responsive to guitar volume and pick attack. I also remember getting a few convincing fuzz sound by lowering the volume and cranking the distortion...ala Teeneage Fanclub

After a little more playing time with my new EGD, this one seems darker and more compressed than my first one I had. My amp and guitar set up are the same. I play through a TopHat CR (lower watt Voxy/Marshall). I got my first one used, and I believe the previous owner had a fender amp. I was wondering if adjusting the internal trimmer would put alittle more shimmer back in, and if so, which way to turn? I don't like to mess with these internal components.

The internal trimmer would help for sure. There's nothing to adjusting it. You can always note where it is currently in case you want to go back to it. Just takes a small screwdriver. Unplug it first of course!

I looked at the trimmer in my EGDM over the weekend and, since it had not been adjusted, figured it was still at the "factory" setting.

It was aligned in the 11 to 5 o'clock orientation with about a quarter turn of clockwise rotation available and a full half turn of counterclockwise rotation available.

After playing with it a bit, I settled for the 3/9 orientation. It is a very compressed sound either way you go but really the only pedal I have that yields this type of tone.
