suggestion for a new Mad Professor series pedal.....

Postby Bobby D » Mon Apr 20, 2009 5:38 pm

I find myself in need of a really good booster/preamp/buffer.

How about taking the Baby Pink circuit and making a Mad Professor version of that? I really loved having the honeybee deluxe on my board, not only for the amazing honeybee -- but because of the buffer and the baby pink booster!

I think the baby pink would be a GREAT addition to the Mad Professor line. Maybe even a new pedal, which is a cross between the SBEQ and the Baby Pink? A Baby Pink with tone controls???? 8) 8) 8)

just thinking out loud here.....but every pedalboard needs at least ONE good buffered pedal.

Totally agree!
The BPB is the best Booster/buffer on the planet!
A Mp Booster for everyone would be a great idea :D

yes -- i think there is a "spot" in the MP product line for this sort of pedal. the baby pink is amazing, as is the SBEQ -- so why not design a circuit that has the best of both, and make it an MP pedal? can you imagine a baby pink that also has tone controls? 8)

sometimes, depending upon the stage, i have to use long cable runs of almost 50 feet, so a buffered preamp EQ pedal would be very necessary. and with varying backline amps, it is handy to have a booster/buffer/EQ pedal to help dial in "your" sound on different amps.

totally agreed. once i sell my HBDLX I'm likely to pick up a BPB before a new HB. If there was a MP version though... :D
My BJFE- Some special ones. Some standard ones. I love them all just the same.

i think a BPB in a box with just about ANY of the other BJF or MP pedals is awesome!

i still kinda lust for that siamese BBOD/DRD combo pedal 8)

BUT......i think a baby pink booster/buffer that has tone controls ala the SBEQ, and made by Mad Professor would be a complete WINNER, and pretty much on of those "swiss army knife" sort of must have pedals....

Yeah, i had this idea of a BPB x 2 or 3.....kind of like a BPB on steriods.....the same BPB but with much more clean boost...i like the tone control idea Slim!...but i want it to be LOUD!...and maybe a switch on the side to turn the buffer on and off as well...

maybe even a trimmer on inside to adjust amount of gain? and a small pushbutton switch on top or side of unit to disengage the buffer? i realize some people may not want the buffer for certain reasons...

i'm drooling over the thought of a BPB/SBEQ combo... if MP ever does a 2 stomp box i'd kill for an SBEQ w/ all its tone enhancing goodness with a BPB in the same box!!

actually the new Sweet Honey makes a really 'sweet' boost and you have a tone control on it...
