He loved he pedal. Nothing bad was said about it at all, only good things.

its a great demo but he spread a lot of bad info about it on hcfx. just adds to the confusion. i made nice nice though, its good to have more demos out there. I just don't want people having a misconception of what happened here with the contest.

There really was no misinformation. The pedal in question was acquired by entering a contest to get the chance to pay $500 for the pedal. Thats what was said. I would love to hear from someone who got one from Harri and how long they waited because I want one and would like to know how long it takes. Since this one is number 16, I dont think many people have gotten them in ways other than through contests here.

Well thats kind of the problem with these being demoed and talked about elsewhere...
These are really still research pedals - its not even an official model yet .....

the reason I do the 'contests' is there are so few of these things I want them to go to people who really want them - usually if someone wont even bother to write a little poem they wont bother to really test the pedal and write a detailed research review ....... the contests are fun but also a weeding vehicle for a very limited product........ so far its worked really well, people enjoy the contests for what they are and the 'winners' always take the time to review the pedal in depth and so we find any flaws well before it goes to regular production .....

and the customshop/research pedals usually resell above the initial price so while it may seem odd to have to 'win' the right to buy a $500 pedal but there actually is potential profit for the 'winner'

That was one of the things I said to BTBAM when he told me he had won the contest. He was a little apprehensive I think because it was a lot of money and he was looking for the perfect gain tone which he wasn't sure he would get. Im amazed that he let this out of his hands for a few days because it really is a great pedal.

Since you are looking for comments to help the development here goes:

I really really like the way the pedal responds to volume changes and picking dynamics. I think its actually a little better in that respect than the honey bee because there is a wider range of gain and a more cutting tone. The high end rolloff of the HBOD makes some minor dynamic changes not as obvious as the H makes them. While I like the glassy high end detail, I do wish there was a little more low end girth. Im using it with a mesa amp with the bass pretty high and the highs and presence in check by comparison. While I am using a pretty bright esquire I think the pedal could still use a little bit more punch in the low end. Im not saying it needs a ton, I just found myself wanting a little bit more. It wouldn't keep me from buying the pedal but it is my one little qualm. I like the max gain level. Its not too much but its really just enough to get sustain and good rock tone without sounding fake. I also really liked the quick response and tight low end. I certainly wouldn't want to sacrifice that tight bass to put more in and make the pedal less quick and clear. I really think you should put this pedal into production. Usually flaws with a pedal are immediately apparent and Im not hearing any. I hesitate to call pedals amp-like but this pedal really sounds like an amp. Its hard to pull that off with high gain but it really worked out here.

yeah this one I think is ready to take on the world and its the one that most people who like the HB but think its too dark and squishy would fully bond with.....

The one BTBAM got I was actually going to keep , it came with the last batch with BJ - he tweeked it just a hair from the 1st run - I like it even better than my proto, but yes it has developed a bit and may further Its not done til BJ says its done

I really think it could almost be split into singles and humbuckers. The HB is very nice with singles and not too dark with a telecaster. The H is a little bright with the esquire but that makes it very cutting too. I suspect a les paul player would have to sit down for a bit after playing the H.

The Model H is an awesome pedal. I though there was a chance that my recently acquired Rebel Red would knock it off the board but... no. Looks like I will keep both of them - and that wasn't the plan!
